This place was derisious! I was quite surprised because of the overall rating on this site.
3:30 pm for lunch. There was set lunches and combo lunches, but I chose gomoku ankake yakisoba, hot and sour soup, and a deep fried eggplant and shiitake mushroom stir fry. The vegetables were cooked well and crisp and bright. Plenty of shrimp, scallops, squid in the noodles. Tender and flavorful. None were over cooked. The noodles were stir fried before being added to the mix in a separate wok. The hot and sour soup was not similar to anything I’ve had, it was made with Korean kochujan and regular white vinegar., did not look like the picture in the menu. But derisious! The deep fried eggplant and shiitake mushrooms were done very well. Nice hot pan so that the eggplant or mushrooms did not soak up and cooking oil. Very flavorful seasoning. The only part that was a tiny bit annoying was the use of lots of diced peppers and onions. Picking them up was a bother, but they too were flavorful, not over cooked, and derisious. I can’t believe this place has less than 4 stars. I forgot to take pictures. It was a late lunch and I was hungry. 6th floor and no windows. Windows would have been nice. The staff were attentive and polite, but did not seem confident with their Japanese. They cleaned up the tables immediately when customers left and there was a constant stream of customers in and out at such a late time for lunch. I don’t understand why this restaurant has such a low score. Did not have any dumplings. That seemed to be a mistake when the quality of the other dishes were outstanding. Must remedy this in the future. I...
