We braved the sun and high temperatures to venture to Shimokitazawa this afternoon and came there at lunch time and lucky for us this is a v short walk from the train station. The quaint little soup curry house offers a few types of curry and a few drinks obviously India inspired lassi. Everything we ordered was just FANTASTIC 😊 the crispy chicken with lots of veggies and added an egg was amazing with really a lot of amazing veggies. Especially lovely root veggies and perfectly charred broccoli and perfect balance of the soup curry snd av well cooked crispy full leg of chicken was soft and succulent! Kids ordered ehat looked like a chicken katsu curry which was also wonderful. if you are in the area or even not, this place is a short 1 stop away from crowded Shibuya!...

Ponipirika was an unexpected delight. There is a very customisable menu. We ordered a Hokkaido Fried Chicken Curry with a Japanese style broth. It was so delicious! One of our favourite meals in Japan.

The spices were so fresh and aromatic. Everything felt like it had a reason to be on the plate and every spice used felt like it needed to be there in the flavour. Just delicious. All their sodas are also homemade and the spices they use in it are perfect. The homemade cola was delicious and cinnamony.

Their most popular choice of broth was a shrimp both but it had already sold out by the time we got there so if we ever get a chance to come back, we will definitely be coming here and trying the shrimp broth. I would imagine it to...

Delicious! And also so sweetly designed, with all the vegetables on the wall so you know what you're getting & a cute little form to fill out exactly what each person is ordering. I would like more restaurants to provide a colouring in pen on arrival please! Staff are efficient and kind and English menus were available.

Highly recommend the 20 vegetable options. Each of them was incredibly fresh & well seasoned. I would go back for them again and again. I'm always concerned re: spice levels as a very white Australian so opted for 1 which was zero spice.
