I had a mind-blowing experience at Roku in Tokyo yesterday! It is a small French restaurant with bench seating for 5 people, which made it all the more intimate. I watched the chef do his thing, plate things up, and explain what each course was. Unfortunately I don’t speak Japanese (obviously that is a failing on my part), but his off-sider does speak English so I had a full understanding of what I was consuming. Each course was delicious, even the things I’m not usually a fan of which speaks to the chef’s skill. It felt like I was having a religious experience. Value for money was excellent, and location is very accessible, being near Yoyogi park and Sangubashi metro station. I would definitely return here next time I’m in Tokyo.
