SOULTREE — Restaurant in Tokyo

Cafe soul tree is quite an unusual cafe/restaurant mainly because of its setting. It is located about 15 min walk from Futakotamagawa station in what seems to be an old industrial building. Right next to it a large tree that probably gave it it's name. The interior is quite spacious and has a very old timey American and cozy feeling. Perfect for some deep conversation since the space also makes noises from other tables quieter.

Probably due to the distance from the station it was easy for me to find a table on a Sunday.

The burger was good but nothing special. At least the party meat seemed to be high quality. On the other hand the waffle chicken has a nice flavor balance but I wish they would use boneless chicken.

6 items on the menu. 4 items unorderable. After an hour wait. The only options were appetizers and today's meat or vegetable plate. No lasagna, no sandwiches. Not only that but the menu rules were also ridiculous for a place like this. Looked nice and tasty the staff were friendly but alas... Too noisy and they don’t plan well enough to have several menu items actually available! The place looks good but clearly more effort went into decorating than making a decent place to eat. Also the prices are insane — 7000 yen for malt liquor! 1000 yen for mass produced Mexican beer! I get that it’s imported but that is just crazy.
