I almost never post reviews but felt compelled after tonight’s meal.

There are a ton of high end sushi spots in the area and I’ve frequented a few. While Ike-kan isn’t considered ‘high end’ the quality of the product and the authenticity of the place make it special and definitely worth trying. The fish is fresh and the chef is top notch in terms of technique and the way he radiates the joy he takes in executing his craft. We couldn’t have picked a better spot to satiate our sushi craving on our fist night in Tokyo! The omakase style service, prix fixe/chef’s choice, was so fun and Delicious!! Fabulous Experience. The itamae was welcoming, fun, and extremely talented.

Ordered the Special Omakase meal, and it was wonderful. The chef was who made the experience really special, we chatted, got to try our hand at grating wasabi on a sharkskin board, gave us hints on how to enjoy each dish, watching him prepare each dish with care,... so many things to love...
