Where do I start...

This was our first time eating sushi in Japan, and we couldn’t have found a better place. Tucked away on a cozy side street, this little gem delivered a truly unforgettable experience — warm hospitality, incredible sushi, and surprisingly affordable prices. We ended up dining here twice. It would’ve been a third time, but on our second attempt, they were fully booked for the night. Highly recommend making a reservation so you don’t miss out on this amazing experience.

The food was perfect — generous cuts of fish, plenty of drink options, and a wonderfully kind staff. The hostess/waitstaff includes a younger gentleman and an older woman who was so genuinely appreciative of our visit. If we ever make it back to Japan, we’ll definitely return here. The chefs are seasoned professionals who clearly take pride in their craft, and it shows in every bite. It truly felt like a one-of-a-kind meal we’ll never forget. Oh — and bonus points for having an iPad ordering system, which was super helpful since we only speak a little...

One of our favorite meals on our Japan trip. Cute unassuming family run spot near Hotel Chinzanso where we stayed a few nights. Service was really friendly and it was easy to order in English or Japanese via the tablet on the table.

We got nigiri, rolls, handrolls, beer, and sake for two people. Quality was off the charts. For US travelers who read that list of orders and picture a $120 tab, I think this was about 6000-something yen, equivalent to 40-50-something USD.

Don’t skip a local spot. We loved the Sushiro coveyor belt experience and the Go Go Curry instant service curry dish, but getting some truly great sushi in a local restaurant stood out for us regardless just due to the lovely experience and...

This is one of those places you hop to stumble upon while moving through the world. Inside you are greater by the amazing hostess/server who was very kind and polite. She was so sweet and made sure we felt welcome, even as foreigners.

The sushi and wine were out of this world delicious! The sushi chefs prepared a variety of dishes such as eel, roe, and of course fish! Plating and presentation very much matched this well taken care of shop.

After completing the meal and thanking them for the amazing hospitality we were sent off by one of the chefs. Thank you for the...
