Sushi Taka is located in the Yebisu Garden Place complex, at the 38th floor of the main office building. Access via the central elevators is convenient. The top floors of the building, 38th and 39th floors, are occupied by restaurants. The 38th floor features mainly Asian cuisine and the 39th floor is devoted to western dishes. You need to come early or make a reservations. Many of the restaurants have last order at 21:30 so coming late doesn‘t work. Sushi Taka is pretty small, so a reservation is a good idea Otherwise you have to plan on waiting or simply go outside in the Ebisu area, where there are many good options as well. The restaurant has no windows so if you come for the view, which is spectacular - you see all around Tokyo from Yebisu Garden place, you should pick another place. There also are observation places around the 38th and 39th floors, so you can come here and look at the view without eating too.
At Sushi Taka you can order set menus or a la carte. We were quite hungry, so we did both. The quality of the food is nothing but spectacular, especially the more unusual sashimi and sushi combinations. The various sashimi and sushi combinations sometimes need a bit of instructions for foreigners, as not all of the sushi and sashimi pieces should be eaten with regular soy, but a different type of soy with scallions. We speak some Japanese and although the staff speaks little English it was easy to communicate and they provided cheerful support when we asked questions.
The price is quite reasonable for such a dining experience. We spend around JPY 27000 for three including beer and sake.
