TAMBOURIN — Restaurant in Tokyo

We had horrible experience. Yesterday we went to this place with my wife to celebrate her birthday. She arrived 10 minutes before me from Kita senju station and when she enter to the restaurant and asked for a table for 2, the waiter said that she had to wait outside the restaurant until I arrive (the restaurant was almost empty and outside was freezing cold), so my wife had to wait 10 minutes until I arrive to enter in this empty restaurant.

My wife was waiting freezing outside then the waiter went out and asked her if she was waiting for someone, as my wife said that she was waiting for me that I was arriving from the station, well now, the waiter told her to move 1m away from the restaurant since she can't stay in front. We never experienced this kind of behavior from restaurants in Japan.

After I arrived we had dinner: Tambourin Curry was normal nothing to highlight I feel it's overrated, lassi was just a watery milk, masala chai was nothing special. We will never go back to this...

I was seated upstairs. The restaurant is small but nicely designed. The staff are friendly. You can pick your spice level from not much to really hot. I picked a light spice level which was good for me. All the vegetables were flavored separately and went well with the rice. The chicken was tender and tasted lovely. 北千住駅から少し歩いて商店街のわき道を入ったところからカレーの良い匂い。１階のファサードが前面ガラス戸で開放感があるオシャレな感じです。1階テーブルが埋まっていたので2階席に通されましたが、古民家風の店内でレトロなテーブルと椅子、ソファが置かれていて夜にゆったり飲むのにはとても良い空間ですね。昼間で最後まで一人だったので少し寂しい感じはしましたが。 注文は単品かプレートまたは日替わり2種にするか迷いますが、シンプルにスリランカカレー（辛口）にします。混んでないのに注文から15分ぐらいかかりましたので少し余裕をもって行かれるとよいかもしれません。 ライスにパリップ（豆カレー）とアチャールなどの副菜が添えられて、メインのカレーは別盛りです。チキンカレーですが、カシミールに似た焙煎香のする食欲をそそる美味しそうなカレー。パリップも黄金色でとても綺麗だし副菜の彩りはバランスよいし、ビジュアルも高レベル。チキンカレーは一口食べたところで「おっ!!」と言葉が漏れてしまうほど美味しい!!　カシミールカレーと同じくらい結構辛くて香りもよい一方、野菜が溶けたトロミ程度の粘度もあってそこがカシミールとはまた違う魅力と美味しさがありますね。パリップの優しい味わいと副菜のアクセントと絶妙の組み合わせて食べ進めるたびに「ほぉ～」とため息が出てしまいます。 途中で水を飲むほどの辛さはないけども、激辛好きでも大満足するレベルの辛さと旨さがあります。こんなに旨いのなら、他のトマトカレー、フィッシュカレーやドライカレーなんかもかなり美味しいのだろうなと思います。お会計の時に感じたこととお礼を告げて後にしました。駅の近くには姉妹店のデビルカレーもあるのでまた北...
