Torisoba Take — Restaurant in Tokyo

We found Torisoba Take by accident--lost in Minato, one failed Google Maps search away from giving up. What we got instead was a quiet revelation.

My wife had the torisoba ramen: rich, savory broth, with perfectly cooked noodles. I went with the salt-flavored version--lighter, cleaner, but just as satisfying.

The gyoza? Some of the best we had in Japan--crispy, juicy, delicious. And the cheese-filled wontons, surprisingly elegant, balanced by a perilla leaf that cut through the richness perfectly.

This isn't a hyped-up spot. No queues, no fanfare--just damn good food made by people who care. If you're nearby, go. Let your plans fall apart and find this...

【最後まで読んでください】まず、ラーメンの味はこの評価とは程遠い味です。ここに高評価与える方はおいしいラーメン食べたことないのかな？不味くはありませんが、感動は全くありません。食べログや他の情報、メニューの写真に定番の鶏そばの写真が記載がありました。それに野菜をつけて注文すると、何か違和感があり、食べ進めると、やはりその違和感があたり、店員(女性)に聞くと、鶏そばはメンマやチャーシューがあるが、野菜トッピングした鶏そばには、メンマがない。チャーシューも細切れのものがある。下からすくうとほぼ紙くずのようなチャーシューが出てきました。鶏そばにトッピングしてるのに、内容物が違いすぎてビックリしました。指摘すると、サービスねといい、メンマを投げるように置いていきました。(女性店員)その店員は、お皿を落としたり、ガチャガチャ雑な動きをしていて、落ち着きませんでした。更に、店内はラーメン屋さんの雰囲気はなく、バーか何かの居抜きのような雰囲気。そして、何より鶏の臭い匂いが漂っていて、尿のような臭さでした。

I’ve tried coming in here twice and the staff (the same lady) have been incredibly rude both times. Today she wouldn’t let me sit at a table even though the restaurant was almost completely empty (as usual). I’ve lived in Tokyo for over five years and this place definitely has the rudest staff I have ever experienced. There’s also a 300 yen per person cover charge, which is absurd for a ラーメン屋.
