We found Torisoba Take by accident--lost in Minato, one failed Google Maps search away from giving up. What we got instead was a quiet revelation.
My wife had the torisoba ramen: rich, savory broth, with perfectly cooked noodles. I went with the salt-flavored version--lighter, cleaner, but just as satisfying.
The gyoza? Some of the best we had in Japan--crispy, juicy, delicious. And the cheese-filled wontons, surprisingly elegant, balanced by a perilla leaf that cut through the richness perfectly.
This isn't a hyped-up spot. No queues, no fanfare--just damn good food made by people who care. If you're nearby, go. Let your plans fall apart and find this...
[Please read it to the end] First of all, the taste of ramen is far from this evaluation. It's not bad, but I'm not impressed at all. There was a picture of the standard chicken soba in the food log, other information, and menu photos. When I ordered it with vegetables, I felt something was wrong, and when I ate it, I felt that it was wrong. When I asked the staff (women), they said chicken soba has menma or char shu, but chicken soba topped with vegetables has no menma. Some char siu are also shredded. When I scooped it up from below, I found a char shu that looked almost like a piece of paper. I was surprised because the contents were so different even though I put toppings on chicken soba. "When I pointed it out, it was called ""service"" and I left it as if throwing menma." (Woman) The clerk was restless because he dropped dishes and made clattering movements. "Furthermore, there was no ramen shop atmosphere, it was like a bar or something, and above all, it smelled like chicken, and it smelled...
Read moreI’ve tried coming in here twice and the staff (the same lady) have been incredibly rude both times. Today she wouldn’t let me sit at a table even though the restaurant was almost completely empty (as usual). I’ve lived in Tokyo for over five years and this place definitely has the rudest staff I have ever experienced. There’s also a 300 yen per person cover charge, which is absurd for a ラーメン屋. Save your money and visit one of the thousands of other ramen...
