I really like what they’re doing.
The shop owner seems very friendly.
The shop is located in a yokocho and can be accessed by walking inside and going down the hallway all the way to the back.
The broth options are either thick and rich (濃厚) or their standard broth. The style is dried sardine (煮干し), they also have special styles on occasion. I got the 特製濃厚煮干し蕎麦, special rich soba.
The 煮干し broth is not very sweet which to me seems more like a classic 煮干し style. If you like classic 煮干し系 you will love this shop!
The noodles are very thin and firm and it’s a great choice of noodle for their broth style. Very thoughtful and well done by the shore owner to pair these noodles with their broth 👏🏽
They have something g called aedama (和え玉) which is an extra serving of noodles. A lot of people order this it seems. I got an extra serving myself. They offer various flavors or 和え玉. You can even get a half size for 50¥ less from regular price. I would recommend getting your normal order first, then asking for 和え玉 later if your still hungry, you don’t have to buy it in advance. I did get it in advance and, if I hadn’t I probably would have gotten the half size.
Next time I might opt for the risotto instead of 和え玉. Risotto is just a serving of rice and cheese you can use to finish the broth. I think it would be a nice change instead of more noodles (if you’re still hungry of course).
Anyway, very nice ramen shop. Probably the best in their style that I’ve had. Very...
Read moreThis was an interesting ramen place! You enter through what looks like a different restaurant and walk straight to the end of the building, passing by a couple other mini izakayas and restaurants. At the end is a small ramen stall with 8 bar seats, an ordering machine, and a bunch of figurines of the same short blue hair character.
When I went with my husband, it was all males, mostly eating alone after work. There was a small line forming behind us, but the service is fast and people don't linger around, so it goes by quick.
What I had no idea about is that the broth is made with sardines, which is apparently a type of ramen and people like it specifically. I don't like fish or seafood so I didn't like my ramen at all. Yet I still choose to give 4 stars because of the ambiance, the service, and I ate some of my ramen as dry as I could. The toppings tasted good too. Also it's kinda my fault not realizing it was going to be fishy broth ramen ...
My husband ordered the thick broth and it was, in his opinion, way too thick. (You don't really get soup but more of a sauce at the bottom of the bowl). He did finish my bowl for me and said that one was much better...

(ig @wei.oframen for my ramen log 😳)
I choked and didn't check Yoshiki's schedule so I was greeted with a closed door upon arrival. I'm quite sure that every ramenhead will get to experience this once in a while. The good thing is that you can always find a good ramen shop nearby in Japan. I hopped back on the train to go back one station and head for Tsukihi. Tsukihi was quite difficult to find because they are located in a shared area with other restaurants in an old building. They were the only one that was open during lunch on my visit tho. So far, I don't think I dislike any of the niboshi-focused shops that I visited. Albeit this was more of a lighter niboshi style instead of those thick cement ones, it was still...
