Uguisu Dango — Restaurant in Tokyo

We were walking through Ueno park and we found this little Dango cafe. We didn't know what to expect, we never had Oden before, but our kids love Dango so we decided to come in. Turns out this place has the best Dango we've ever had. And the boys loved the Oden too which is an assortment of bean curd, fish cake, kelp and more. The dish is cooked in dashi soup. We had to put in a second order for both Oden and Dango. I ordered the matcha tea and azuki bean soup and it was also amazing. The texture of the soup was the smoothest I've ever had. The soup was sweet so they served it with a small amount of salted kelp to balance out the sweetness which was perfect!

The lady who we assumed was the chef or owned this cafe was very kind and welcoming. She knew we were tourist and made sure we knew how to enjoy all the items we ordered. Her food was truly like art, we made sure we told her that despite the little Japanese we knew.

We definitely recommend trying this place, the menu isn't big and the items are necessarily 'instagram pretty', but be adventurous and open minded and you never know what you end up falling in...

고즈넉하고 깔끔한 당고카페 입니다. 우리나라에서 흔히 먹던 당고에 비해서는 덜 쫀득거려서 조금 덜 단 팥앙금 같았는데 맛있었어요!

당고에 어울리는 차를 여쭈어보자 마차를 추천해주셔서 맛났습니다. 기본으로 주시는 녹차가 너무 향기로웠어요~
