This is one of my favourite restaurants in Japan. The food is excellent and always reminds me of my time in Tamil Nadu, India. Sometimes they play Hindu chants, which I love. It's cozy and a great little environment. I used to go about three times a month regularly until the pandemic started. It's now August 2021, and since Spring 2020, I've only gone in maybe three times. It's just too small of a place, but I can't resist the delicious food. Anyway, today I was quite surprised that two people in the kitchen weren't wearing masks. One had one on, but it was pulled down. Another had nothing on at all. Both weren't staff members that I remember from before. It made me sad that at my one my favourite restaurants two people would not be wearing masks during an official State of Emergency. Most people aren't vaxxed as of now in Tokyo. Even if these two are double-vaxxed, they could still catch and pass on the virus. The one with no mask at all actually came out and took food from the buffet for herself. She also left the restaurant without a mask. Very strange and upsetting to me. I had previously given this place 5 stars, but I'm taking it down to 3 for today, unfortunately. The pandemic isn't over. There's no reason two people in a little restaurant's kitchen shouldn't be...
Read moreJust went 4/16 sunday. Their perota day . Or non- perotta day( as it seemed it was tooo busy that we couldn't get our hands on any and ended up eating their average dry Japanese rice . If you can't keep up hire more staff or offer normal naan or etc . They had fish curry with too many bones that it almost chocked the older man next to us . Everything was spicy except 1 out of 4 curries. Their green salad mainly of cabbage and some baby lettuce was soso and one of the only things that saved the non air-conditioned room despite having a.c. Service was second rate. The server kind of tried to rush us took away plates , slow for water, didn't give us any basket for their semi dirty floor. It does not deserve the 8 people in line waiting outside but it's probably because there's no better alternative here but 1200 I'm...
Read moreEvery morning as I walk by this place, I get sweet, gentle, and spicy aromas of authentic tamil cuisine from South of India. Having been here a few times, I can attest that the flavors here are amazing and the portion sizes are plentiful. This was one of the few places that were open during typhoon hagibis during lunchtime, where I had the opportunity to try their extremely reasonable, all you can eat buffet lunch set. I was quite satiated. Service is quite great as well. Although the staff can speak Japanese, English, and Tamil, they have the right level of Interaction with their guests. Not too much, not too less. This is one of my favorite...
