Sotetsu Fressa Inn Kinshicho Hotel Review
Greetings, so i am aiming to give as much professional opinions to you ,readers as possible, as my family own a 4 star hotel in Bali Island , so i came with a huge expectation coming to this hotel .
First of all, lets talk location, situated around 6 minute walking from kinshicho station, so its a positive start. Plus another major points, within less than 10 meters radius north and east from hotel , there are 2 family mart & 2 7/11 convenient stores. however, i also want to not recommend of takoyaki restaurant around hotel.
Second, upon looking at building, the exterior looks modern minimalist (japan style), and the interior lobby, despite not too spacy, have ALL the amenities and facilities you need as a traveler, you said it ,they have it (from rest rooms, beverages & hygiene amenities, “yukata” pajamas, microwave, luggage scale, foreign exchange machine service, even a foreign translator machine & many more).
Third, corridor hall looks simple yet modern & the colour palette are giving a warm, soothing & calm vibe so the design uniformity is pretty consistent. And room( we choose standard) looks exactly consistent to the images we got.
before i say anything, i stay there for almost 11 days so i have been observing the staff& a manager a lot. first during check in, as always service is straight forward professional, patient and friendly, however, i say this always, if you practice speaking very very even basic “baby level” japanese to them, that would totally increase your friendly interaction &experience to staff.
Also, everytime you pass them on hall, mostly they will greet you, which always a very plus service. Even so i ask them to help me keep my 3 medium sizes luggages for a day after me& my girl check out, since we go to trip at hakone area and will return back to their hotel, without even a small hustle, they just say “sure no problem ”, to me thats a very positive aspect.
On the more detail important note, this hotel is strategically blessed, first, within radius of 10-20 meters there are at least 6 unique selling points : a “Life” brand supermarket store in a 7-9 stories building mall, public park, various local cafes, diners, a small “yokocho” & many more. one particular is a local book store name “book off” which is a store where you can get any type of literature ( novels, comics, manga, magazine, books) at almost 1-3 dollar USD. Its mostly locals only, and its a great experience for you if you never been there.
So in short, sotetsu fressa inn its for people who aim to stay in underrated hotel ( i rarely see chinese indonesians or indonesians ) over there, mostly are either middle up millenials westerners (americans) or milenials asians( south korea, japan or middle up china), let be honest, you wouldnt like stay in hotels where there are many noisy &annoying tourist from any parts of world countries.
In numerical ratings, as follows:
Location:8.6/10.0
Design: 7.5/10.0
Service:8.9/10.0
Amenities:8.9/10.0
Hope my reviews are useful for your considerations and if you like simple but effective result,i definitely recommend this sotetsu fressa...
Read moreThere are three reasons why Zhao chose Sotetsu Tokyo Kinshicho Hotel: First, he has stayed in the same brand hotel in Myeongdong District, Seoul, South Korea, and has confidence in the group. The second is that I have family members who rent an apartment in Sumida Ward for easy care. The third is that there is a JR Sobu Line train every hour from Kinshicho Station to Narita Airport. Although the journey takes 1.5 hours, the advantage is that it is direct and there is no need to drag luggage up and down to transfer. The transportation is convenient. From Kinshicho Station, you can reach it by taking JR or subway. It takes about 45 minutes to walk to Keikong Tower or Sensoji Temple. The outer garden environment is quiet yet prosperous. The hotel is located on an inner street, very quiet, and only 3 minutes away from Family Mart and snack bars such as Yoshinoya. Instead of paying for hotel breakfast, it’s a good idea to go to the French bakery coffee shop at the corner of the street or the large shopping mall next to Kinshicho Station. As requested, we were assigned a room on the 14th floor. There was a view of the building outside the window and plenty of indoor lighting. The bathroom is of medium size and the hot water pressure is strong. The heating temperature can be adjusted manually. The mattress is moderately soft and hard, and there is one thick and thin pillow. The thick one is on the hard side and the thin one is more suitable. Toiletries, ready-to-brew coffee and tea bags can be picked up in the lobby, and microwaves can be borrowed. There are coin-operated self-service washers and dryers and ice granulators on the second floor. The room is tidy and cleaned every day from 10:00 to 14:00. The service attitude of the hotel staff is good and worthy of praise. The only disadvantage of the hotel room is that there is little space, and you cannot open your suitcase for a long time. One is placed next to the bed and the other is placed in the corridor. However, I have long been accustomed to the small number of rooms in Japanese hotels, so it is not a big problem. If I go to Asakusa/Sumida area next time, I will continue to choose Sotetsu Tokyo Kinshicho...
Read moreIt’s nearby Kinshicho station, but it takes ca. >35 mins to travel to any of the hot spots like Shinjuku, Ikebukuro and Shibuya; However, Kinshicho station does not lack good food/malls to shop at, like Donki.2. Staff is friendly and helpful when I asked for a room change.3. Why the room change, you may ask. There was a growing pungent odor from the toilet since night 1 and i couldn’t stand it on night 3, which smelled like a mix of sulphur and other weird gases. perhaps it’s sewage gases, or poor ventilation (bathroom has no “control panel” like other japanese hotel does). In my new room, the situation was better, but eventually the smell was present as well, just not as strong as the previous room. 4. I got 3 bug bites on my stomach area at my first night, as well as a smaller one on my neck. no idea how that happened. 5. they have a policy where if the guest do not request for a room cleaning for 3 consecutive days, they would come in to clean anyways on the fourth day at anywhere from 10:00-14:00 for hygiene reasons, where I couldn’t say no to, that’s weird to me at least. Imagine you are fine with no housekeeping at all for whatever reasons, presumably privacy, but they do it anyway; I personally dislike this. 6. Good water pressure and responsive shower. 7. Idk if this is generally a japanese thing or not, but their toilet bowl is shallow, and the sitting board has a relatively small circular opening, where when pooping (for guys like me), i always had to cover my thing with my hand to prevent it touching the front of the inner toilet, as unfortunately it has happened once during my first night of my stay. same for the sink, the space between the faucet and the back end of it is small where i had to be careful not to touch it while washing my hands.8. Everyone said the room is small and I verify...
