I stumbled across this sandwich place and I could not stop thinking about it for days. I decided I wanted to treat myself on my last night in Tokyo with my left over JPY. I spent the whole day reading the google reviews and they were equally good & bad. I was a little nervous about spending $100 on a sandwich after reading the reviews but I’m glad I didn’t let that stop me from visiting.
The steak was cooked perfectly, it was SO soft, it basically melted in my mouth. The truffle fries were delicious, make sure you order these and whatever you do DO NOT share them. I can tell that a lot of thought was put into crafting this simple yet delicious sandwich with the thin layer of the sauce that was delicious enough to enjoy but subtle enough to not overshadow the flavour of the wagyu. The texture of the toasted bread also complimented the softness of the wagyu perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised when it came out with a bit of gold leaf on it, it just added that special little touch.
The customer service was also lovely, the young man who served us was very friendly, he handled the food so delicately. It was therapeutic to watch him prepare the sandos with so much care. Although I wish that he gave us the corners that he cut off those sandwiches for presentation because I would’ve loved to eat them too.
Wagyu is expensive, it is a luxury to be able to eat such a deliciously crafted meat. The restaurant, although very cosy and charming did not look like the type of fancy place that you would be spending over $100 in. I can see how people who left harsh reviews would have felt like this place was a little over priced. However as someone who absolutely loves wagyu and does see the value in it, I thought it was worth every dollar. I would love to come back for a special occasion one day and splurge on another mouth watering sandwich by Wagyu Mafia. My friend and I really enjoyed our sandwiches, definitely one of the best sandos...
Read moreAmazing sandwich! Must go if you’re a meat lover. Some reviews complaint about the high price, but in my opinion the price is absolutely justified by the quality of their beef.
I tried both the 1,000 yen gigolo sando (minced beef patty, not sliced fillet) and the 5,000 yen zabuton sando. Even the 1,000 yen sando is very good! Very juicy and flavourful. The zabuton sando is amazing, very juicy and melt-in-your mouth. I’d say the zabuton is the best value-for-money cut in the store. The price is definitely justified by the quality and taste. The sando and meat also goes perfectly with a few drops of their own-produced hot pepper sauce (wagyusco).
Note that there are only 2 small seats and a standing-only bar, so don’t expect a restaurant setting. It’s all about the meat here. Service is nice and very english-friendly though. Definitely recommended to...
Read moreChance upon this place selling premium beef in a sandwich. The price point range from 5000 yen to a staggering 35000 yen ones. The beef are handled by 2 chefs and one even took a picture of his own creation. Seemed like someone had ordered the most expensive cut. The beef looks good but the sauce can be better. The bread was crisp and soft in the center. The beef was seared to perfection with a pink juicy center. The beef was really tender and nice however it lacked flavor and definitely lost out to many beef joints around. With the price point in mind, we did expect more as I ordered a 8000 yen wagyu sirloin cut. The staff can speak good English and was super friendly so that's a plus for foreigners like me. Overall it is just a ok experience since the food didn't stand out with the high...
