Very impressed! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a healthy, organic, and fresh vegetable forward meal - a welcome break from traditional Japanese cuisine in which the vegetables tend to be an afterthought if offered at all (overcooked or over pickled). For ¥2000, you can walk away fully stuffed with seasonal raw and cooked vegetables, soup, and a cleansing fresh juice. Don't hesitate on this one, it is very much a local gem.
It is clear that organic vegetables are the focus, and they are harvested from the owner's farm in Chiba. When you enter the shop, you're immediately greeted with a beautiful buffet of the day's fresh vegetables. It is simple and very fresh, and beautifully curated. Today's buffet included: finely shredded kale, mizuna, raw yellow carrots, cooked pumpkin and beets, and a few prepared salads (green bean and roasted tomato). Dressings offered were caesar, traditional japanese sesame, and a bright and flavorful "fruit and vegetable" vinegar-based treat. Water infused with lemons and herbs is available in pitchers, and there is a large container of fresh soup (today's offering was a clear miso broth with seaweed, onions, and other vegetables.)
The quaint shop is located just behind the bustling center of Shibuya, and is casual with a rustic decor. The restaurant seats about 20, including two outdoor patio tables. Service was quick and friendly, and they were more than happy to explain how their menu works.
What to order:
We enjoyed two of their "cleanse juices", which were fantastic - 1) kale/orange, and 2) beet/guava. They are priced around ¥600 each. Fresh fruit smoothies were also available for ¥1000. The shop also offers a lovely selection of beers, wines, and champagnes.
The vegetable buffet with soup and water is included with each meal. It certainly is quite enough to suffice! However, if you're looking to feast, they offer several additional items. We ordered the "vegetable plate w/ baguette" and "fried chicken". The karaage was crispy and generous and not to be missed. The vegetable plate contained a tasteful presentation of seasonal vegetables that had been sliced and cooked lightly. Lightly seasoned with salt - but a miso paste is also served alongside. The baguette was light and buttery, and a perfect side dish portion. Overall, it was SO much food - and...
Read moreI often go to eat at this restaurant, but yesterday I got very disappointed by the service. It is the first time I go with a bigger table of people, and they seemed always hesitant to accept our requests.
First of all, allergies changes. Since one of the customers has some intolerances, it has been asked, already from the reservation, to avoid using milk and soy products, and beside always making mistakes on the food to be served risking a food poisoning, they even charged that person more for eating less putting it under the label “vegan,” for a situation which is not a choice. If being vegan is choosing to avoid some foods, allergies are not, but charging a customer for it, even after underlining the fact of being a food intolerance and they seemed to ignore us, it has no excuses for its bad customer service.
Second, the “must order a drink” policy. In japan, asking for a drink is very common, but I see this as a lack of respect towards the customer who might not want to drink something beside water, so forcing them to order one instead of providing a service you provide a disservice. They were able to please us on this last request, but after making us feeling as if we were asking a big effort.
The food is really tasty and seasonal, but they definitely should work on their customer service since we truly felt like we had to please them doing something even if we are paying and being charged...
Read moreI had the Bagna Cauda Course with added mashrooms, and it was a revelation. Easily shareable between two people (the portions are surprisingly generous!), every bite felt like it had just been plucked from the earth that morning — because it probably was. Their produce is harvested daily, and the menu is crafted around that fresh selection, giving you the very best of what nature has to offer.
While not a fully vegan restaurant (they do serve meat), it is exceptionally vegan-friendly. Plant-based options are clearly marked, thoughtfully prepared, and easily accessible. As a vegan, I felt completely welcomed.
Their approach — growing heirloom vegetables without chemicals, honoring seasonal rhythms, and using every part of the ingredient — is deeply respectful and refreshingly thoughtful. The dishes are cooked simply, allowing the natural flavors to shine.
The space itself is warm and inviting, with a rustic charm that instantly makes you feel at home. You can tell that everything here — from the ingredients to the service — is handled with care and integrity.
If you’re in Tokyo and craving something meaningful, flavorful, and deeply nourishing this is the place. A true...
