Very disappointing experience. Never trust a menu that offers pizza, paella, tandoori, and nachos (not to mention the over the top fruit / whipped cream parfait). Anyone who is trying to accomplish so many cuisines is having an identity crisis, and is getting all of them wrong. I would not recommend to anyone.
The tiki bar atmosphere is soured quickly by loud American music and chairs with sunken cushions (that desperately need to be replaced.) It's charm is lost in the lack of service, and long waiting times for food (and we went early on a weekend, when less than half of the restaurant was seated.) The only thing worth having on their menu is their Indian cuisine - and even that is far too sweet to be anything other than modified for Japanese tastes. The "amuse-bouche" generously gifted to our table while we waited was baked chicken with skins that had been drenched in a ketchup drizzle.
We ordered: chips and salsa (the salsa was in a thimble-sized cup, and about 15 chips were offered - the salsa tasted more like chutney than anything from latin america) margarita pizza (nearly inedible, the cheese was overdone and slimy and the crust of the pizza was soft and wet) tandoor chicken (chicken itself was fine, but you had to pay an extra ¥600 just for rice to accompany it, and it wasn't even basmati - it was japanese short grain rice!) butter chicken w/ naan (presented on a ridiculous silver platter the size of half the table - the naan was delicious, but the butter chicken lacked seasoning and was overall very sweet) caprese salad (one small tomato cut into wedges, with mozzarella cheese and a drizzle of basil mayonnaise on top) ham charcuterie (slices of deli ham, served on a giant heart-shaped plate, we left half of it behind because it was...
Read moreBig place, with about 40 seats visible from where I'm seated. Not sure how to describe the atmosphere, but kind of a weird mix and more complicated by the Halloween decorations on top of Buddhist. There's Bollywood TV behind me but the music is... I can't even describe it... Modern? Later on I think it became Hip Hop. Also a TV with Japanese news in front of me. Not a broad menu, but it looks good and a pretty good value considering the location. Also has free Wi-fi. Coronavirus precautions seem on the strong side.
The spicy chickpea and spinach curry had a nice thick base, and the naan was slightly sweet, yeasty, a little heavy but skillfully cooked. There was also a nice piece of tandoori chicken. I'm going to call it a...
Read moreAside from the fact that the food was served lukewarm and tasted pretty average, I was surprised that they told me it was impossible to have my curry spicy?! I asked for the highest spice level and was told the spicy sauce would be served separately. Of course they then also forgot to actually being the spicy sauce with the food, so I had to ask for it again and then mix it into my curry myself...
We also had an incredibly noisy group next to us and asked to move tables because we simply couldn't hear each other speak and despite there being a number of empty tables in the restaurant, we were told it was impossible to move.
Unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant and I will probably not...
