Yoroniku Ebisu
Omakase Ebisu Set (10+ Dishes) - 19/11/23 (Throwback Review) Food: 5/5 (or perhaps 6/5)
One of the yakiniku places I still reminisce to this day, and thinking of it brings me pure joy. This is my second time here at Yoroniku (Previous visit was at Minami Aoyama branch, and I had to come back again), and the food/quality remains consistent.
Upon reservation, the Ebisu Set course seemed to be the modest option for a family dinner, given the truffle option wasn't that necessary and the priciest course only featured the cutlet sandwich (that I wanted to try), which my asian parents weren't exactly convinced nor compelled to both after hearing me out unfortunately. However, if you happen to get a reservation here (Since usually tables are fully booked till the following month), you might as well go all out.
My Favorite Menu Highlights: Cold Beef Dish - Yukke & Beef Sashimi For some of you may find it skeptical when it comes to raw beef, but I hope this will enlighten your appetite. The dish serves 3 cuts: 2 cuts of beef sashimi and Yukke (aka beef tartare) that is mixed with a raw egg like a jam spread and topped onto crusty bite-sized bread toast. Not only it was delicious, but the bread 'tapas' idea made my perception of raw beef a little less daunting.
Salt Based Beef - Loin, Tongue & Outside Skirt My personal favorite just because I simply love beef tongue (So much we had to order seconds; A la carte menus are also available). Normally I would pair it with sesame oil sauce and/or a lemon squeeze, but the tongue itself is also salty and savoury enough.
Rare Parts - Chateaubriand & Silky Loin Since my first visit at Yoroniku, I was properly introduced to Chateaubriand (thickest part of the tenderloin), and it got me hooked ever since. Served with a dab of wasabi, no sauce needed.
Special Parts - Sirloin & Zabuton This part of the course emphasizes the power of 'sauce'. With the sirloin cut grilled and served with ponzu and a ball of grated radish, and the Zabuton cut simmered in a pot of sukiyaki sauce served with raw egg, both are undoubtly exquisite through technique and taste (Resembling Shabu-shabu & Sukiyaki styles).
Noodle - Somen It can be overwhelming when it's all mostly protein and no carbs, so having the somen cold noodles to conclude gave it a balancing touch.
Dessert I may not have a sweet tooth, but I couldn't say no to a mountain of shaved ice! They served us not one but two plates; Green tea and fresh milk, very photogenic. After all that protein, a cold crunchy yet refreshing dessert felt right to me. Service: 4.7/5
Overall service was smooth and rather seamless, to the point where communicating with the staff was minimal. Although I noticed the staff weren't fluent in english, so if you have any other additional requests, I advise you to order everything else in one go. Other than that, staff were well prepared and offered to grill for us; each cut was timely grilled at the right temperature, as if it was calculated. We were simply there just to enjoy and wait to be served. Atmosphere: 4.7/5
The restaurant was crowded but the table seatings are spacious. Plus the place is clean and ventilated, which is ideal for yakiniku. Overall Score: 5/5
For those meat lovers out there, I recommend you save this in your Tokyo bucket list. Reservations can be hard so do plan ahead. Overall price is reasonable compared to the quality of food & service. Worth it and perfect for...

You can add that on when you get there. 📣tip 2: if you say you're celebrating something like a birthday or anniversary, they will add sparklers to you're dessert at the end of the meal. It's very nice. 📣tip 3: the seat cushions lift up, you should put your coats and belongings in there so the smoke won't make them mell.
The waiter will cook everything for you at your table! Each waiter seems to attend up to two tables at a time. So when they are not when you they are at another table. However they were very attentive and I never found myself waiting for them. Everything is small bites but but the end it's pretty filling. We ordered the ¥11,000 course. It seemed to be the most popular. Everything was... Amazing. No regrets.
The kakigori at the end was really tasty and I love that they have kakigori even after summer is over.
Most people are coming here to celebrate something or a business meeting. Small bathrooms, only one for males and one for females. There aren't really windows in the restaurant.
