Zauo - Kameido Store — Restaurant in Tokyo

We basically been to all 4 branches in Tokyo, with Kameido branch being the recent one. I must say despite the lack of drum being played when a fish was caught, the staff were kind and very hands on in helping out my kids and I trying to fish for our dinner. Despite the language barrier, we still manage to communicate with most of the staff and at the end of the dinner found out one staff member named Shinosuke spoke very good English, he helped to charge my out of battery phone so we can actually find our way back to the hotel. We ordered some extras such as chutoro sashimi (was very good), salmon sashimi (alright), tempura platter (quite a big portion, super airy and crunchy, but the sauce was lacking), presentation of our caught dinner is great as always (sashimi style, grill with salt, etc). It was dinner time but it wasn’t packed like the other branches especially Shinjuku and Shibuya branches. For our next trip we will def return to the Kameido branch. It was our second visit to this restaurant. We had come a year ago, but unfortunately, our experience was not good, and we couldn't catch any fish. This time, we decided to give it another try due to its convenient location near our hotel, though we hesitated because of our previous experience.

I am so glad we returned! The service was outstanding, thanks to a young male staff member who spoke perfect English with the best pronunciation I've ever heard in Japan. He took the time to explain every detail and was attentive throughout the dinner, even caring for our kids.

Delicious and fun! Is the fishing going to compare to a chartered boat in Alaska? Of course not! But it is a great novelty, as is getting fish so fresh it still twitches. We loved it. We went late in the evening (around 8pm) and it wasn’t crowded. I would definitely advise avoiding peak times so you can get the attention you need if you are a clueless tourist like us.
