🗓️Check the calendar on their website before you go. The pool is closed on some Mondays and other days based on specific rules. Recently they improved a lot on both English and Japanese versions of their website 👍👍

This is a friendly place overall: staff, other customers, and the facilities all give off a welcoming vibe 🤗🥰

🏊‍♂️The pool itself isn’t very impressive: it’s 25 meters long and quite shallow (water level reaches about belly or chest height for adults). It might not be suitable if you’re looking to practice things like flip turns or dolphin kicks.

🏊‍♂️Water quality varies. Some days it’s clean, some days it’s cloudy, and occasionally there’s a strong chlorine smell. Make sure to take care of your skin after swimming here. (update 2025-08-01: they improved water quality a lot recently even though there are more people coming during the summer 👍👍, but please take care of your skin afterward)

👍On the plus side, the locker area is spacious, and the shower rooms are large, clean, and have hot water.

👎🏼One downside: the stairway from the shower area to the pool downstairs smells really bad. Fortunately, it’s a short walk. (Update 2025-08-01: recently they improved the smell issue a lot 👍👍)

Other notes: 📍Cash only. You buy your ticket from one of two machines (they accept only coins and bills). It’s 550 yen for a 2-hour adult session. 📍Ask the staff at reception if you want to use a locker. It’s free, but you need to let them know. 📍Even if you don’t use a locker, you still need to show your ticket to get a separate card for pool access. This extra step can be a bit annoying, and I’ve almost forgotten to insert the card into the pool entrance box a few times (now i no longer forget but start seeing many others forgetting 🤣) 📍No metal jewelry allowed in the pool. Take off earrings, necklaces, etc., before going downstairs. There’s a small tray on the inside of the locker door that’s helpful for storing them. 📍Staff maintain the grooming area, but there’s also a vacuum cleaner you can use to clean up any hair you’ve dropped. Things you might find useful if visiting: You pay at the machine to the left of reception which has English as an option. The machine issues a ticket with a QR code to access the gates.

After you purchase the ticket go to the counter and show them the ticket and they will give you a locker card and a card for the activity (pool for us).

Remember to keep the ticket with the QR code as you need it when you leave. If you overstay your two hours it will trigger as you leave and you will need to pay the difference.

You need swim gear, hats and towels. The shower facilities have body wash and shampoo so no need to bring any. The changing rooms as clean. There are no private...

「ひがしんアリーナ（墨田区総合体育館）」に行ってきました。正直、公共体育館と聞いてイメージしていたのは、少し古くて質素な施設だったのですが、良い意味で期待を裏切られました。ここ、本当にすごい。都内でも屈指の総合体育館なんじゃないでしょうか。

まず立地。錦糸町駅から徒歩圏内、公園の中にどんと構えていてアクセスが抜群。JRやメトロ、さらにはバス路線も豊富なので、どこからでも来やすいんです。しかも周辺は飲食店やショッピング施設も揃っているから、運動後に食事をしたり買い物をしたりするのも楽しい。スカイツリーが見えるロケーションなのも、ちょっとした特別感があります。

館内に入るとまず驚くのが、とにかく綺麗で新しいということ。公共施設とは思えない清潔感で、エントランスに入った瞬間から「ここって本当に体育館？」と思うほど。スタッフさんが常に巡回して掃除や点検をしているようで、更衣室やシャワールームもピカピカ。ドライヤーやシャンプー・ボディソープも備え付けられていて、ジムやプールを利用した後にそのままお風呂に入ってスッキリして帰れるのは本当にありがたい。

僕は今回、友人と一緒にトレーニングルームとプールを体験しました。料金は区外の自分でも2時間550円。区民だとさらに安いらしく、正直羨ましいくらいのコスパです。トレーニングルームはサイズ的には民間の大手ジムに比べるとこぢんまりしていますが、有酸素マシンから筋トレマシンまで一通り揃っていて、不便は感じませんでした。フリーウェイトもあり、ダンベルは40kgまで。マシンもメンテナンスがしっかりされていて安心して使えます。インストラクターさんが常駐していて質問すると丁寧に教えてくれるのも助かります。

トレーニングを終えたあとはプールへ。ここもすごい。稼働床になっていて水深が変えられるコースがあったり、透明度の高い綺麗な水だったりで、想像以上に快適。2時間550円でプールとジムとお風呂まで楽しめるなんて、コストパフォーマンスの良さに思わず笑ってしまいました。お風呂にはジャグジーもあって、運動後の疲れを一気に癒やしてくれます。強めの泡が身体に効いて、気づけば時間を忘れて長湯してしまいました。

さらに驚いたのは、スポーツ観戦やイベントでも利用できるという点。FリーグやBリーグ、プロレスや空手大会まで、幅広い競技がここで開催されているそうです。観客席も整備されていて土足で入れるし、空調もしっかりしているから一年中快適に観戦できる。公共体育館でプロの試合をこんなに気軽に見られるなんて、本当に贅沢だと思います。

屋上にはフットサルコートもあり、芝も新しく張り替えられていてプレーしやすさ抜群。友人がフットサル好きなので次回はここで汗を流したいね、と盛り上がりました。

また、館内には王貞治さんの記念展示もありました。地元ゆかりのヒーローの実使用のバットやスパイクを無料で見られるのは、スポーツファンにとってはたまらないサプライズです。

利用者の層も幅広く、ジムで黙々とトレーニングする人もいれば、プールで子供と遊ぶファミリーもいて、それぞれが自分のペースで楽しんでいるのが印象的でした。混み具合もウェブで確認できるので、整理券が必要な時間帯を避ければ、かなり快適に利用できます。僕が行った土曜夕方は思ったほど混んでおらず、ストレスなく施設を回れました。

最後にもう一つ感動したのはスタッフさんの対応です。僕の友人がスマホを更衣室に忘れてしまったのですが、スタッフの方がすぐに対応してくださり、無事手元に戻りました。こういう誠実さって、施設の印象を何倍も良くしてくれますよね。

総じて言えるのは「この内容でこの料金は破格」ということ。月額制のスポーツクラブに通わなくても、必要な時に必要な分だけ利用できるのは忙しい社会人にとってありがたい仕組みです。健康維持のために定期的に通いたい人にも、たまのリフレッシュに利用したい人にも、どちらにもぴったり。
