【桜咲く朝のご褒美】
A peaceful morning at Cafe and Gallery Utsuroi was the perfect interlude between two traditional ryokan stays, offering a breath of fresh (and caffeinated) air with its Western-style breakfast and gentle hospitality. How did I end up here?: The ryokan I stayed at - Migumiya Ryokan - had a breakfast plan that to my pleasant surprise consisted of a coupon to use at this establishment.
Welcomed even before the doors officially opened, I was struck by the staff’s warmth — the kind that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. With a few carefully curated choices on the breakfast menu, I opted for the French toast, which arrived golden and tender, not too sweet, and paired beautifully with a cup of freshly brewed coffee that whispered of quiet mornings and early spring.
While I love the intricacy and rhythm of a ryokan breakfast, after two in a row, this change of pace felt just right. The view from the window framed a cherry blossom tree in full bloom — a reminder that sometimes, the best part of travel is finding beauty in quiet corners.
If you’re staying nearby (Migumiya Ryokan was a charming stay!), this little cafe is a lovely way to start your day.

The only thing I can't forget is a good piece of french toast and a coffee. This place was it for me. French toast was awesome. Coffee was good. I get it's prospective but a western breakfast just hits. Give this place a try! Artwork is...

There is an art gallery at the back of the cafe with painting painted by the owner’s uncle. Big paintings decorate the cafe walls which makes the cafe feels like an art gallery.
