I recently enjoyed lunch at Coffee Room Morinaga, a long-established coffee shop located just a five-minute walk from Wakayama Station. This historic café, founded in 1947, exudes a Showa-era retro ambiance that evokes a sense of nostalgia. I ordered the morning set for 650 yen, which included fresh vegetables, perfectly cooked bacon and eggs, and homemade bread, all of which were delicious and of high quality.

The staff were very friendly, making it easy to relax and enjoy my time there. The proprietor's warm personality is reflected throughout the entire establishment. Despite being a regular spot for many locals, the café made me feel at home on my first visit, providing a comforting and welcoming atmosphere.

Very comfortable and nice old fashioned Japanese cafe. First opened in the Showa period (1947). We just had coffee but we had a nice 90 minutes here. Next time I would like to try some lunch or dessert. The shop staff are very attentive and kind. A black coffee is 350 yen and a cafe au lait is 400 yen.
