Do not come here if you care about real coffee. Apparently there was no way for me to have real milk in an americano or espresso, so I reluctantly ordered a hot latte. In my opinion it’s not acceptable for a “cafe” to expect you to put that fake oil-based cream in your coffee. It was ¥650 but was made with an automated machine and was identical to what you’d get in a convenience store (don’t let the steam wand on the machine fool you). Also they gave it to me in a paper cup and plastic lid, I suspect to hide the fact that it’s not a “real” latte. I would have liked a normal coffee cup.
I’m only giving it two stars instead of one because the food looked good, and the space is nice. It’s a pity the coffee sucks as I would love to hang out here with my laptop on a nice day.
Edit as I can’t respond to the owner’s reply - Sure, I understand that you have business reasons for the customer experience being substantially poorer than your peers, but they sound like excuses when you charge ¥650, which is the going rate for a typical specialty coffee shop which typically provides everything I felt was lacking in yours. I apologise for my harsh words, but I feel it’s my duty to point out to others who care about their coffee experience that, even though I think it’s great that you’ve opened a new business with some very nice elements, my coffee experience and customer service experience were disappointing; I t’s obvious you have milk on the premises, and you call yourself a cafe (with a western name I might add), so I find this level of inflexibility very frustrating. If your staff had just given me a little fresh milk with my espresso or americano, you would have likely received a much more favourable review. I sincerely hope this feedback provides some value to you, as I really wanted to have a good experience at your establishment, and was expecting to, and you’re close to great. I wholeheartedly support new cafes regularly as you can see in my other reviews, so my harsh review shows how truly disappointed I was. (Note I speak adequate Japanese to handle that kind of interaction, so I’m confident it wasn’t a...
Read moreCan't say anything about the food, because they literally had no bread - at all! It was only 2pm. We decided to visit after lunch somewhere else to get some nice bread from here, but man, you really have to go in the morning to get something. It's a very small place, but they have outside seating and a small dog park next to it.
Instead of food, we just had some coffee. Had the Hazelnut Latte which was pretty good - not too sweet.
But please, prepare more bread, especially if you're...
Read moreWe dropped by the bakery to pick up some pastries & bread for our road trip back to Nagoya early in the morning. The cafe looked so inviting, we would have stayed for coffee if there wasn't any time constraint.
Highly recommend apple pies which had a crispy crust, berries pastry are equally great. The almond cookies were my favourite - buttery and addictive!
The staff were very warm and friendly, the manager gave us a free pack of walnut crispy toast! Thank...
