Best mapo tofu and best tofu dish I’ve ever had. I don’t usually eat a lot of tofu but man, if I ever have dreams of revisiting Japan, it’d be coming back here and eating the Mapo Tofu. I’m only here because somebody named Mike influenced me to try mapo tofu, and so I did, I don’t usually eat spicy but for a day trip, I’d suffer the consequences for this dish lol. The Mapo tofu was so flavorful and spicy, I had to order white rice with jt, it wouldn’t be right to just eat it without rice. You gots to have rice. The Mapo tofu I had looked like the picture outside the restaurant btw. Also their eggplant and fried rice was bomb dot com. Everything was just so delicious

My boyfriend and I walked around for a while before finding this place. It's off the main road which made it nice. I'm very picky about my spicy food. Sometimes the spicy food I eat can be too spicy to the point you can't enjoy it or it takes away the true flavor of the food. A good portion of the dishes have a spicy kick to it. But the kick is one that can be handled and was enjoyable. The mapo tofu was the best I've had in a while. I really loved the firmness of the tofu and the thickness of the sauce. I'll definitely come back here again when I'm exploring the area in the future.

みなさん、美味しい中華食べてますか？ 今回やってきたのは真っ赤な見た目と激辛な味わいが特徴な四川料理のお店である、その名も「横浜中華街 四川麻婆 新館」さんです。 このお店があるところは中華街の中でも特に辛いものが集まる「香港路」というエリアで、辛さが特徴的な四川料理、もっと辛い湖南料理などのお店が軒を連ねます。 なお、同じ香港路には「四川陳麻婆」というお店もありますが、まったく別のお店なので間違えないように気をつけましょう。 この「横浜中華街 四川麻婆 新館」さんは、なんといってもランチがリーズナブルです。 ◆ Ｃ・水煮魚（白身魚の四川風煮込み：８８０円） ライス・スープ・お新香・デザート付きでこのお値段は、実に素晴らしい。 近所の町中華で８８０円のレバニラ定食を食べても美味しいんだけど、同じような値段を払うのであれば、みうけんはこちらに来てしまいます。 水煮って名前だけで「サバの水煮缶」のように全く辛くないお料理を連想しがちですが、実際に出てきたのは真っ赤な血の池地獄。 見ているだけで唐辛子の香りがツンツンと感じられて、それだけで頭皮に汗がにじんできますが、まずはスープからいただきましょう。 意外にもスープは辛くなく、干しシイタケとエノキがたっぷり入ったものでトロッとしていて滋味深い美味しさ。 そして、いよいよ水煮魚に向き合います！ なにかしら、この大量のトウガラシは・・・ 中国四川省のお料理には「水煮」シリーズがあり、水煮牛肉や水煮猪肉（豚肉）、水煮魚などのバージョンがあります。 水煮シリーズは、大量の野菜とメインとなるお肉などを炒め、大量の香辛料と合わせて、さらに煮えたぎった油をジャバージュバーしたお料理。 正直、いったい何を持って「水煮」なのかとツッコミたくなりますが、これがクセになる美味しさで一度ハマるとやめられなくなります。 具材はキャベツ・モヤシ・キクラゲをメインとした、たっぷりのお野菜。 そこに粒の花椒と、揚げた唐辛子がコレデモカと投入されていて、お口の中がシビシビカラカラになる、これぞ「麻辣」と呼ぶにふさわしい味わい。 粒の花椒をたっぷり噛みつぶしてお口の中をビリビリにしたところで、お魚さんを食べましょう。 メインの具材となる白身魚はかなりたくさん入っていて、その１切れ１切れが実に肉厚。 食感もむっちむちで、激烈な麻辣に対するお魚の優しい甘味が実に美味しいです。 これはたまらん、と白いご飯をバババババババとカッこむ、このシアワセすぎる瞬間たちよ！ ご飯はふっくらと炊かれていて、このシビシビカラウマなスープや具材との相性も抜群です。 中華って、とにかく太るイメージがありますよね。 しかし、本当の中華はたくさんの野菜と香辛料を使ういっぽう、炭水化物は控えめなのです。 ラーメンとチャーハンと餃子のように炭水化物の３重奏をすればそれは太るのは当たり前であって、本格的な四川料理はなかなか太らないそうですよ。 ただし水煮魚にはけっこうな油が入っているのも事実ですが、その油は中国茶で洗い流せばお口の中までスッキリ。 食後のデザートは定番の杏仁豆腐で、辛いものの後に食べる甘いものって格別です。 しっかりと手作りされた濃厚な杏仁豆腐のモッチリ加減に、大満足のお昼となったのでした。 ◆◇◆後記◆◇◆ こちらのサービスランチは、支払いは現金のみとなり平日の１１時〜１４時に食べることができます。 平日にランチというのは、地元でもない限りはなかなか難しいものがありますが、辛いものがお好きな方であれば是非とも試して頂きたい逸品です。 花椒のシビシビ（麻）と、唐辛子の辛味（辣）、合わせて「麻辣」の美味しさは、是非とも本格的なお店で試して頂きたいなと思います。 横浜中華街、香港路の「横浜中華街 四川麻婆 新館」さんのサービスランチ、オススメです！

YouTuber at Yokohama: Eating mapo tofu Me: yes. The mapo tofu was amazing, yes it was spicy but it was the good kind of spicy. A little numbing but it was packed with minced pork and radishes. Wow, it went so well with rice. However it could have been a little spicier for my taste maybe because I’m Chinese. But the tofu was soft and soaked up the sauce. Writing this makes me want to hunt for mapo tofu more often.
