I live in nearby Fujisawa and was actually on my way into Kamakura for some Hokkaido soup curry when I decided I couldn’t be bothered and got off at Ofuna. Had a quick look around at what’s near the station and chose here. I love Indian food and recently have been on a bit of an odyssey to find some good restaurants. The problem I feel with Indian restaurants in Japan is a lack of meat and pureed-to-death sauce that makes u think of Campbells soup as the base and not actual vegetables. Thankfully Aakash does neither, I ordered the mutton curry set with seekh kebab and when it came I was glad to see a good number of chunks of meat and a sauce with some body to it. Spice level was good but they also gave me a jar of chili pickle to up the spice slightly....which was a nice touch. Read moreMy first time to the restaurant...and it was a great first impression. Finding a great Indian restaurant away from the big city of Tokyo is never easy...so finding Aakash was very fortunate. Had the Butter Chicken and Spinach and Mutton curry....and they were both delicious. Had the Garlic Nan and Kumin Rice as sides...and they didn't disappoint. A small restaurant with a modest atmosphere...but a friendly staff and a favorite with the locals.
