Chapman Tacos — Restaurant in Yokohama

As a Mexican staying Japan and staying in Yokohama more specifically, I was caught by surprised when I was walking down the street and saw this new restaurant appear. At first glance it seems like it’s more of a themed bar and grill; with west coast rap playing non stop and and deep SoCal vibes in the aesthetics. Down to the tables and accouterments and even slang written on the walls. But if you actually make past all that you’ll see that they have that down on the corner street vendor vibes all inside on the plates ready for you. Ordering through a QR system online menu is easy or if you prefer in person (and in cash). While the presentation of the tacos is barely there visibly, the flavor is a different thing altogether. They must be some of the best carnitas I’ve had anywhere even compared to back in East L.A., they’re definitely better than my corner taco spot. But each taco, from the Al pastor to asada and fish are equally flavorful. With only a side of chopped onions, cilantro and jalapeños as your toppings as well as a pretty robust salsa, you’re pretty much set. Oh so I mention they make their own tortillas right there on the spot?! chef’s kiss There’s a decent cocktail menu as well with nothing fancy other than beers and coke mixed with different spirits. (A Mexi Coke is just tequila and coke). They also have a few sides and a basket of French fries dusted with Old Bay seasoning is always welcome and they make a hella decent guac as well. All in all I highly recommend if you’re crawling the boulevard for something other than I always or ramen, stop by here. Hell the even got Birria Ramen...

This place is serving up some amazing Los Angeles style tacos. In fact, Chapman has the best tacos I've had in Japan. Super authentic carnitas just like my Mexican grandma used to make. Carne asada is also delicious! The tortillas are delicious, made by hand and the salsa is amazing. This restaurant has the most authentic Mexican food in all of Yokohama! Check them out and get the carnitas! I would give them 6...

Absolutely awesome little taco shop. The food is great and the prices are incredibly reasonable. With three and five taco sets you can try whatever you want on the menu. We tried a lot on the menu, overate, had three drinks, and finished at a very reasonable ¥7,300. Great place, highly recommended, we'll definitely...
