Disappointed. I read good reviews about Mamma Mia but my experience did not reflect the reviews. I went with a friend who wasn't feeling so great so we asked if the cook can make scrambled eggs for her since all the dishes looked to fancy and she didn't want to upset her stomach. We even offered to pay the price of the eggs Benedict. The chef said no; no modifications to anything on the menu. I ordered the beetroot spaghetti with shrimp, mushroom and Parmesan. It sounded interesting so I thought I'd try a new twist to spaghetti. The beetroot was awful since it made the entire dish tart. Also, there were very few shrimp. It took a while for the waiter to bring me a real napkin as opposed to using Fine when eating spaghetti with a white shirt. Even after he saw me putting the Fine on my shirt to prevent any splattering he still didn't get the message. I had to ask for a real napkin. The place needs a little TLC. The furniture was old and had holes in it as you can see from my arm rest in the photo. The only positive part of the dining experience was the tea...
Read moreI have been hesitant to have breakfast/brunch here for some time, mostly because it didn’t seem to cater to plant based or vegan needs. However, I figured, if I have been bold/risk taker to venture into several restaurants with no vegan options - what’s stopping me from having breakfast here?
I had brunch here with a group of friends. I had the vegetable focaccia, French fries and matcha latte with almond milk. I found the matcha latte presented with coffee really strange. There is already caffeine in matcha and coffee?! First time I ever seen a place thought it was good idea to combine both. I don’t like it.
The focaccia was filling and I did request for no cheese on it. However, again, quite strange to include cheese into the salad provided alongside the focaccia. I found the focaccia to be slightly salty.
Apart from my comments regarding the food, it's a good place to have breakfast with a group of friends or family. But maybe for dietary needs such as mines, probably...
Read moreI had very high expectations for this place, and I'm not disappointed per se, but I'm not that impressed either. Of course the decoration is amazing and great for photos, but I have some comments: why do they charge 17.5% tax when it's supposed to be 8%? (It was reduced back in 2020) The water bottle they serve is tiny, not even the 500ml bottle and they charge 1 JD for it without tax. My friend only wanted to order coffee and the waiter came back in the middle of our breakfast and asked her: "Aren't you going to order anything else?" That was weird. The poached egg dish was good and filling but there were just too many flavors and it was really hard to cut through the bread, it took me a while to finish it. The coffee was okay, nothing out of the ordinary but it would be better and cheaper to order coffee from an actual a...
