Lemon Tree Residence — Hotel in Amman

Located in the Jebel al-Weibdeh area of Amman it is walking distance from numerous small restaurants, cafes and sheesha bars; in a bucolic upper middle class neighborhood that has churches and is close to historic sites. You can’t beat this location in centrality and charm. Near Paris Square and the citadel the dusk is full of church bells and the call to prayer. ||The guest house is next to the Italian embassy and run by an Italian who is an expert on economics and other issues. It feels like a home away from home. The rooms are well appointed and modern, and the upstairs has a common room where breakfast is served (ask for poached eggs and bacon); there is also a roof with a view and sitting area. ||The place has no sign so you’ll have to just trust Google maps, it has a green door. Had a lovely stay at Lemon Tree Residence to kick off 2 weeks in Jordan. A really fairly priced room in the charming Weibdeh neighbourhood, very well situated within 15 mins walk to Rainbow Street and/or Downtown (as long as you’re ok with stairs). The property is very clean throughout, the room has all you’d need, with comfortable beds + a good bathroom/shower, and including a fridge that we found very useful thanks to how generously food is portioned in Jordan compared to the UK! There is a full kitchen (with a large oven, stove, microwave, kettles, filter coffee, etc.) in the common area where you can reheat any food or fully cook up a meal if you so desire.

Jan 2024 update: Now there were blackout curtains in my room and I found a thinner pillow in the closet. The only real hassle of this property is the closeness to a mosque that turns on its speakers at 6am.

2023 So far, best accommodation I found in Amman. Good quality for a reasonable rate. Rooms are nice, modern and very clean. I really enjoyed the shared flat "mode", a private room with bathroom and shared living room, terrace and facilities. Location is perfect, super safe and relatively quiet to be near Paris Square.
