It is rare to see a restaurant keeping a high standard throughout the years, but this is the case with Roastbeef which has actually continued to improve steadily throughout the 8 years my wife and I have been visiting it (at the beginning it was called Coffee Likes). The atmosphere is very elegant and relaxed (soft lights, no earpearcing music, nor television screens around), the service impeccable, and the food... well, outstanding. We particularly like their risottos, cooked to perfection, especially amazing are the ones with Salted Tuna, and the one with Porcini with Truffles. The Crispy Eggplant with Tempura Shrimps Salad, the Veal Medaillons with Asparagus, Fillet Mignon, the Sea Bass Fillet, and the Chocolate Fondant and Crème Brûlée for dessert are other feasts for the palate to mention but a few. If you add to that a very good wine and spirits list and reasonable prices for the level of quality offered it doesn't come out as a surprise that this restaurant is so successful, and definitely our favourite in Astana. Thank you for...
Read moreLast year, I ate the best ribeye of my life here. I thought maybe I’d just gotten a lucky batch or was simply too hungry. I couldn’t get it out of my mind all year, so yesterday, now that I’m back in Astana, I came again. I ordered the same cut — a 300g Kazakh ribeye — and to my surprise, it was just as amazing as last year. Every bite was incredibly tender, juicy, and had a slight smoky flavor. The fat melted in my mouth like butter, and every bite until the end felt as satisfying as the first. I’m not sure I’ll ever find a better cut than this.
Special thanks to Ansa, who provided great service and shared interesting details about the meat and cooking process. Note: prices have gone up 20% compared to last year; But I think it’s happening around the city due...
Read moreIt’s a bit off from the main street of the tourist attractions but just steps away from the Opera House. The Roastbeef offers both indoor n semi outdoor seatings. We picked the latter one and luckily got a nice view seat with sunset in front of us. We ordered Kazak rib eye which was terrific. The mussels and clams plate had very nice sauce but the seafood was mediocre. That’s understandable in a landlocked country. Soufflé was a wow. Must try! Servers were very attentive. Will come again if I happen to be in...
