I ordered Java’s Cake of the Month (with the BOGOF offer) through Uber Eats. Thanks to a discount from Uber Eats, I was supposed to pay KSH 480 instead of 960 for two slices and with the BOGOF, I should’ve received four slices in total.
Instead, I only received two slices, one of which arrived completely smushed.
I called to inquire, and the first person I spoke to said he’d call me back. He never did. After waiting for about 30 minutes, I called again. This time, a different person picked up and, after taking me in circles, told me I only got two slices because of the Uber Eats discount. According to them, if I had paid the full amount, I would’ve gotten four slices.
This made no sense, especially since my receipt clearly indicated I was to receive two paid slices, and the BOGOF offer should have applied regardless. Shady behavior for sure.
Uber Eats ended up refunding me via Uber Cash, which I appreciate, but as a long-time loyal Java customer, I’m honestly disappointed. The whole situation felt dismissive...
