Watch out for the racist server/manager with a glass named Melissa. From the moment we called for booking, she spoke very rudely, hung up the phone mid-talk thrice and misled us by saying no outside sitting available. We shrugged the bitter encounter off thinking might be a rush hour thing. Upon arrival, she tried to make us wait but luckily another nice server found an outside table for us. I was taking a cityscape video from my side where no one was seated. Miss Melissa thought it would be a great idea to be on a power trip and came to our table to rudely ask us to not take videos when there were clients which I said I was not and from my phone angle anyone could tell I was pointing the camera outside and she could check. She just left without saying anything. After that we saw multiple people taking photos, and videos in front of her and never once did she have any issue with the white guy taking videos, the white lady sitting next to me posing, or the lovely big Kenyan group going live with so many other customers in the background. The rest of the staff was wonderful and attentive, the food was great, and the ambience was good. Except for this weird racist encounter with your staff Melissa, who has a vendetta particularly against indian /brown-looking person poorly. For a restaurant with so many good staff and food, the management needs to review their front desk staff from time to time and maybe proper training. Just 2🌟s away from getting 5🌟s, because of bad staff. Sadly the first and hopefully the last unpleasant racist...

Ample parking, exclusive feel since it’s in a well protected area. Views are to die for especially on the terrace of the bar and lounge. Can get a bit chilly if you reserve outside but they have patio warmers. Use the link on their instagram page to make a quick reservation. Reservations were up to par and the staff were absolutely amazing. Quick and timely services from the waiting staff. Served us with respect, smiles and recommendations of meals came in handy. The wine bottles were chilled on short notice and they delivered impeccably. Macharia, the able chef made us some phenomenal meals especially the steaks. My medium rare order is often poorly done in several places in Nairobi but not at 270 degrees Rooftop. Compliments to the chef. If you love caramel, please try their cheese cake with caramel (I think the name on the menu is Misono or Miniso Caramel -not too sure but it’s to die for. Chocolate Lava Cake was so good too for the chocolate lovers) Prices are also very friendly as you can see on the highlights on their Instagram page. Only thing I feel they need to do is put signage outside as we got a bit lost for a few minutes but it was worth it. Only reason we found it was because we knew it was in the Escada building and at least that name is put up at the gate. Owing to the fact that it’s only 4 months old, I’m sure it will expand and grow to accommodate more people or even open up more branches with the...

Absolutely stellar experience!

This spot quickly became our go-to during our time in Nairobi — and for good reason. The staff is wonderful and genuinely welcoming, greeting us each time with warm smiles and easy hospitality that made us feel right at home.

The food? Absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and consistently satisfying, with enough variety to keep every visit exciting. As someone who follows a plant-forward diet, I was thrilled by the number of thoughtful options available — and even my non-vegan dining mates were thoroughly impressed. Whoever’s slinging the food back there, you’re knocking it out of the park.

And let’s talk about the views — they’re spectacular. Whether you’re catching the golden light of sunset or enjoying a breezy afternoon, the atmosphere is effortlessly chill and inviting.

A special shoutout to Derrick, who makes the best smoothies — seriously. His creations are refreshing, perfectly balanced, and always served with a kind smile that brightens your day. If we’ve forgotten to name others who helped make our visits so memorable, please know we appreciate you all — you made us feel like regulars from the start.

Nairobi has plenty of great dining options, but we found ourselves coming back here more than anywhere else. It just checks all the boxes: great food, beautiful setting, relaxed vibe, and a team that clearly loves...

The only thing better than the views is the food that this kitchen and its truly gifted chef create. The service is exceptional, to boot. I’ve tried nearly every dish as I am in the Escada for a long-term stay and each meal is better than the last. The chef is humble and kind; approachable and deeply invested in his craft. The service exceeds expectations every time, with Grace and Maurice and Lynnette and Faith really shinning. To be honest, all the staff are truly special and treat each guest equally. They are present but do not hover; knowledgeable and flexible; fun and also professional. I’ve forced myself to venture out to other restaurants, but none have come close to the quality, price, service, and downright deliciousness of this gem. The drinks are excellent, too. The bartender makes a beautiful Negroni…and the house red is yummy; the beer is cold. The coffee is delicious, as are the pastries…a perfect place to start the day as the cool Nairobi air breezes through the cafe and restaurant. It’s also a great place to work remotely - the WiFi is excellent and the staff let you be… This is truly a very special place in the heart of Westlands. Enjoy!

I recently visited 270° Rooftop, and while the ambiance was undeniably impressive, with stunning views and a relaxed atmosphere, my overall experience fell short due to the subpar service and food. The setting itself is beautiful — perfect for an evening out with great views of the city. It’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. However, the service didn’t quite meet expectations. The staff seemed a bit disorganized, and we had to wait longer than anticipated to be attended to, even though the place wasn’t overly crowded. As for the food, it didn’t live up to the standard I was hoping for. While the menu had promising options, the dishes we tried were lackluster in both flavor and presentation. It felt like the kitchen wasn’t firing on all cylinders that night. Overall, while the vibe and location of 270° Rooftop are worth experiencing, the food and service definitely need improvement to match the setting. Hopefully, these areas are addressed in the future.
