Honestly its been a while since ha e such a poor experience. I also dont post reviews.
1st time we visit to watch euros we made a reservation. Upon arriving 10mins before our reservation we were told our table was given away as we were late, which we were obviously not. Not even a curtacy call to check on us before giving away. As it was to late to go anywhere else we settled for a table with no clear screen view (which we had to arrange the tables and chairs ourselves). We immediately ordered food, to which the waiter came back 10mins later stating the kitchen had already closed. Absolutely shocking to experience something as pathetic as that. No apology, no manger to speak to, just a laugh and 'unlucky shoulder shrug' We went next door , ordered fried and had it at our table.
Few days later we called in advance asking if B/I Lions rugby game would be shown. Answer was yes definitely. We arrived 7pm when the game started and weren't allowed in. After 15mins back and forth they allowed us in. Rugby was only on in the front bar TV. After eventually entering we were told 'sorry tv is going off in front, you need to go watch football inside' so we left. Tried speaking to someone and back were just turned. Absolute joke.
As a tourist trying to secure quality time and value whilst on vacation, I could never recommend this establishment unless you are willing to gamle for disappointment.
It seems theres not many options for pub vibes in the area, which I believe promotes the 'we dont need you' attitude which is sad to see. For the survival of the place and the well-being of the people working there, I hope new spots dont open doors close by. Im sure this will fall on deaf ears, but hopefully this feedback could assist in a reality check to who ever is responsible for this place, aswell as to visitors that value organisation and...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience and would not recommend this place. I had booked a table in advance to watch the Olympics opening ceremony. Despite being stuck in traffic, I called multiple times to confirm my arrival and to request they hold our table. I even asked them to order for our table in advance and to contact me if they needed to give our table away. When we arrived 15-20 minutes late, we found a couple without a reservation sitting at our table (a table of 6-8 people). The receptionist was unfriendly, though the manager eventually found a solution, but the communication was very poor.
Additionally, we were served by "254 Brewing" waiters who told us we would get free beers if we purchased from their brand. However, they charged us for the beers. The waiters claimed that those selling the beers (who left at the time of us paying the bill) despite wearing identical t-shirts, did not work at Kengele’s but were 254 Brewing representatives. We spent a long time discussing with the manager and waiter who did nothing to resolve the issue in the end. Very disappointing, such a scam.. and the...

I left because it became to crowded and they had no limit on the crowd. People just kept coming in.

Ive been in Nairobi for just 3 days and felt Kengeles would be safe.
IN RESPONSE TO KENGELES REPLY BELOW: Yes, your staff all wear masks adequately (They are wonderful friendly staff) but there is no social distancing amongst the guests! Zero enforcement and no lomit to the number of people who enter the place (On FRIDAY 15th)
Management needs to limit clients or kengeles might become a super spreader!
