Under The Radar — Restaurant in Nairobi

I've always written my reviews with a positive outlook, but this one here is the exception. Long Post Alert

We decided to go support our friend despite having a long & tiring week. It was a good evening, the Karaoke was fun and the crowd was just awesome. When we asked for the bill we realised that the bills have descriptions of the guests, mostly based on the superficiale. It was cool to see that my pal had 'suit' as his description because hey, he was wearing a fine suit. My other pal had his description as 'specs' and we thought, cool. When I looked at my bill, it described me as 'mean'! The shock! I didn't even bother looking at the other bills. I was taken aback because when I talked to the waiter this is how the conversation went; "Hi Sheila, how are you today? Could I please have........." The next time we talked was when I requested her to bring our bill.

So, instead of remembering the 1st time I came to UTR or yesterday when we had a good time, all I can remember is being categorised as mean. What's worse is that when I asked her why she tagged me mean, she said she didn't mean it like that. When my friends confronted her about it, she said it was a typing error, as she meant to write men because I apparently came in with men, which I didn't, I just walked in with 1. 'a' and 'e' are so not next to each other on the keyboard so she didn't even own up.

I was personally looking forward to bring my brother over the weekend to celebrate his birthday at UTR, but with such tagging of clients, I just can't!

So next time you go to UTR, watch out, you may...

I have always used the UTR delivery service. The last time I tried to order, someone advised me not to as their pizzas have gone down in quality. I gave the benefit of the doubt. I ordered the pizza. It came two hours late with no one picking my calls in the meantime. I can't even go into the shoddy response when I reported the issues with the pizza and delivery. AND it tasted really really bad. I did raise a complaint and was told that they would make a replacement on Wednesday the offer day (my order was on a Sunday haha).

However when I placed my order on Wednesday, now things had changed and apparently "the chef has said you have to come to the restaurant to get the replacement". This was also communicated an hour and a half AFTER I made the order and only after repeated calls again on my part. Poor food, customer service and response. Not worth...

Great place for family (and group) outings given the availability of a kids' play area and plenty of seating and parking space. The ambience is absolutely relaxing due to the choice of background music and surrounding greenery. Heaters are also available in case the weather gets chilly. Lavender was my waitress of the day and she was not only very friendly and attentive, but also helpful. I sat at the Coffee Bar and ordered the chilli Beef Samosas (served in 3's) and a Cafe Latte which was served just the way I like my coffee; deliciously hot and with 3 Digestive cookies on the side. I didn't feel the heat of the chillies in the samosas at all so the bartender gave me a chilli sauce which did the trick! Overall, I highly recommend UTR restaurant and I hope to visit again to try the main meals or the Pizza BOGOF offer which runs...
