Still wondering why I didn't have a 5 star experience after reading all the other reviews. The table where our reservation was made ( there was spilt food on the floor next to the wall together with empty beer bottles( only reason I know is because my little one kept going towards it) yet the restaurant was pretty empty - so not sure what the circumstances were to put us in a relatively dirty section of the restaurant. I even made a reservation for this 3 days before. The food was pretty bland ( the Korean bbq pork belly was not marinated in anything. There was no order to the food arriving. The starters came half an hour apart. The drinks menu _ almost all their wines were either not available or the shop was closed. No cocktails available ( this is at 7.30pm on a Saturday night) The sushi platter ordered( the most expensive on the menu) came with one small dollop of wasabi and ginger on the side of the sushi boat. Yet we were 6 of us. The green tea ordered came luke warm in the pot. The waiter didn't even bother to help with serving side dishes that came on cast iron plates around the table. We had to make sense of what and how to do things which resulted in us having things in piecemeal or forgetting to have the wasabi and ginger etc.. Even the serviette holder was a mission to operate. The waiters came to sing happy birthday without even checking if we were all seated at the table( myself and two children were at the playarea) The few highlights were decent sushi and some pretty backdrops to take pictures. We cleared a rather hefty bill and tip ans left feeling not as good as we hoped. All in all, my experience had me thinking that I would definitely be resorting to other places for my sushi...
Read moreI’m quite disappointed with this dining experience. Having noticed its rating, I expected nice food and nice service. It was surprising to discover that the side dishes were missing their flavor… the couple kimchi side dishes didn’t get marinated through. Same with the cucumber…I felt as if I were eating radish and Chinese cabbage dipped in kimchi sauce. They didn’t provide us oil to grease the grill for our bbq. When my friend asked, the waiter told us that there’s no need with the type of meat we ordered. Well, we were fine with that, but I do have pity for whoever gonna clean that burnt and sticky grill… We were there for about an hour with a table full of food but no one brought us any napkin or wipers… in short, it wasn’t a very pleasant experience. I like their shop, which is with a good selection of Korean snack,...
Read moreSushi Soo is a delightful addition to the local dining scene, providing authentic Korean cuisine in a welcoming setting. Whether you’re a newcomer to Korean food or a seasoned enthusiast, this restaurant will cater to your taste buds. Highly recommended for anyone craving a true taste of Korea in Kenya!
The staff is warm and welcoming!
The menu is extensive, featuring a range of classic Korean dishes. We started with teokbokki and beef marinated galbi (beef ribs), both of which were flavorful and authentically prepared. The beef marinated galbi was perfectly marinated and tender, paired beautifully with a side of steamed rice.
Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and authenticity of the dishes.
Don’t miss out on their special house-made kimchi at the K-mart; they enhance the flavor of the dishes...
