I recently visited your restaurant around 19:00 and while I found the food and ambiance generally pleasant, I feel compelled to share some concerns about the service, which needs significant improvement—particularly around transparency and attentiveness.
We were seated inside near the glass door. To start, we ordered the Bukeza (bruschetta), which was average. For mains, I had the lamb and my partner had the Kosovo chicken—both dishes were delicious and well-prepared, so compliments to the kitchen.
However, the service left much to be desired. At no point during the meal were we asked how the food was, nor were we offered additional drinks. I had to signal the waiter just to order another beer, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy.
More concerning was the handling of the bill. When I requested it, the same waiter who seated us came over with the card machine and charged us immediately without presenting the bill first.
When I asked about the bill, he replied, “Didn’t I give it to you?”—which he hadn’t. I insisted, and he seemed reluctant to provide a receipt.
He then mentioned there was a 10% service charge, which had not been communicated at any point. When I pointed out that this was neither disclosed on the menu nor listed anywhere clearly, he repeatedly asked, “Do you understand what I mean?” I assured him that I speak fluent English and understood perfectly—but also explained that this lack of transparency is unacceptable.
He seemed annoyed that I asked for a receipt and even questioned whether the total was “too expensive.” It wasn’t about the price—it’s about the principle. I work in the service industry myself, and I know how important it is to be honest and upfront with guests, especially when it comes to billing.
He gave us back 3 euro and palce it on the table but he wasn’t happy at all.
To improve the guest experience, I strongly recommend: Clearly displaying all menu prices. Informing guests in advance if a service charge will be added. Always presenting the bill before charging.
These are basic standards that help build trust with your customers. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously and use it to make the necessary...
Read moreOn my first visit to the place, I really enjoyed it – the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was tasty, and I can especially recommend the broccoli soup. However, on my second visit, unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing in every aspect – the service, the food, and the cleanliness.
When my friend and I arrived at the restaurant, it took the waiter about 15 minutes to approach us and take our order, and we waited another 45 minutes for the food to arrive. When it finally did, the disappointment only grew. I ordered vegetable soup, which was completely flavorless, and grilled chicken breast that was so dry it was impossible to cut, with no accompanying sauce. The dish came with some sort of yellow pasta, which my friend described as tasteless and having an odd texture (I am gluten intolerant, so it was my mistake not to ask in advance, but this is something that should have been mentioned on the menu).
In addition, I ordered the restaurant's special salad, only to discover it was just a simple salad with cucumber, soft tomato, very hard-to-bite croutons, and a few pomegranate seeds – a dish that didn’t justify the price (4 euros). I also noticed that the cucumbers were half-peeled, and their peels were included on the plate with the chicken breast, as if they were part of the dish.
Moreover, the table was dirty, and instead of cleaning it, they simply covered it with a tablecloth. The plants around the tables were full of cobwebs, which was quite unpleasant. Even though the vegetables displayed outside were meant to create a rustic vibe, most of the pumpkins there were rotten.
Overall, the experience was very disappointing, and I don’t intend to return. It seems like the place needs significant improvement in all areas, which is a shame – with a little more motivation and effort, this could have been an...
Read moreI have dined at Liburnia before and always appreciated its inviting atmosphere and quality food. This time, however, my experience was significantly different due to the unprofessional service.
We arrived and waited outside for about 20 minutes without anyone coming to check on us for drinks or seating, despite the fact that my cousin and his friend had been served outside on their previous visit. Eventually, my cousin had to go inside and inquire about a table.
Once seated, the service was inattentive and unwelcoming. We ordered beef medium to well-done, but it was served rare. When we asked for it to be cooked a bit more, the waiter took the plate without any acknowledgment, no apology, no reassurance, nothing. When it was returned, he simply placed it on the table without a word.
The wine glass I was given had visible stains, so I politely requested a replacement. Again, the waiter took it without a word and simply left a new one at the corner of the table with no acknowledgment. Throughout the meal, no one checked in on us. When we wanted to order additional drinks, we had to go to the bar ourselves because the waiter was absorbed in his phone instead of attending to guests.
It is disappointing to experience such indifference from staff in a restaurant that otherwise has great food and an appealing interior. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously, as the restaurant has great potential, but the service needs a significant improvement to match the quality of the food...
