Timeless Charm, Culinary Bliss! 🏰🍽️🌟
Stepping into Shpija e Vjetër Restaurant felt like a journey back in time, with its quaint and charming architecture reminiscent of a bygone era. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, creating an instant sense of comfort.
The menu was a delightful exploration of traditional flavors and regional specialties. Each dish was prepared with love and attention to detail, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of the area. From mouthwatering local delicacies to classic favorites, every bite was a celebration of Albanian cuisine.
The attentive and friendly staff added to the positive vibe of the restaurant, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Their knowledge and passion for the food they served made the whole evening a truly unforgettable one.
One particular standout was the "Flija," a savory layered pancake dish that was a true revelation. I couldn't resist ordering a second helping! And the homemade desserts were the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
With every dish served, it was evident that Shpija e Vjetër takes great pride in offering an authentic taste of Albania, wrapped in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you are a local or a traveler looking to savor the essence of Albanian cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit.
Shpija e Vjetër Restaurant is a true gem, where the traditions of the past blend harmoniously with the joy of the present. I left with a happy heart and a promise to return to relive this delightful experience...

I come from the United States and I know that a lot of us are very entitled. But I also work in service, so I find that is entitlement is very annoying. I get it.
It took 20 mins for anyone to even acknowledge I existed to have my order taken. When I finally waved someone down he was helpful and very nice, despite the language barrier. I appreciated that since I am in their country and do not know much Albanian (it is on me to do better, not on them).
But after I got my appetizers, I didn't see another waiter for over 40mins. And this is despite the fact that my waiter told me (as he handed me my appetizers) that he had to go get my bread really quickly. He just never came back.
After those 40 mins, I got up to go find someone to pay. I gave up on trying an entree. And I found everyone just chatting by the bar.
When I asked them why no one had come by to speak to me again and why no one ever brought my bread to me, they claimed they were very busy and that the kitchen is overwhelmed.
For one thing, the bread isn't freshly baked. The kitchen didn't have to fulfill that order. And for another, the restaurant was only 1/3 full.
I don't suppose that this review will keep anyone from eating here. I know that customer service pressure is very different than in the United States. But guests should not be ignored for 40mins and they should...
Read moreMy experience at this restaurant was really disappointing. When we got there, it took the waiter a long time to come over and take our order. It felt like they were more focused on seating new customers than taking care of those of us who were already there. We ordered our food and then had to wait a very long time. Meanwhile, we saw other tables getting their meals while we only had our drinks. Even three groups that came in after us got their food before we did.
The waiter was really unfriendly, which made the experience even worse. Despite the restaurant looking nice, the service was not good at all. I can't recommend this place. Just a two-minute walk away in the city center, you'll find the restaurant "Sarajeva," where the food is delicious, the waitstaff is really friendly, and the atmosphere is great. I would definitely choose "Sarajeva" over this restaurant...
