Al Diwan International Buffet — Restaurant in Salmiya

We went to the new seafood buffet on Wednesday...

The sashimi was delicious with a really amazing sauce on top... hand made in front of you.

The salad was handmade and fresh right in front of you also with shrimp and crab and was also delicious...

The avocado salad with crab was delicious if you just added cocktail sauce to it.

The bread rolls were great... even though we had to all for butter several times... why wasn't it just there?

The merengue with fruit minis were absolutely scrumptious... we definitely should have started with these...

Everything else was fairly disgusting, extremely overly salted, the seafood was over cooked and dried out although we came early when the buffet first opened.

Most of the seafood was either incorrectly stored or old and was very fishy, including the cold shrimp, hot shrimp, and several other items, including the freshly made fried battered shrimp that was also too salty and tasted vile, almost spoiled.

Even the pasta dish and roasted potatoes were way way too salty.

Also... it would make sense to offer at least one chicken and one beef dish for all those who aren't seafood lovers accompanying those who are.

My dining partner was nauseated for 24 hours after eating there... perhaps from the salmon ... I didn't eat it and i was ok.

It was very very disappointing to say the least, particularly because I've eaten in this restaurant again and again over the years and have never had this experience before.

Please please... you...

I visited the Al Diwan buffet at Holiday Inn Salmiya today after some time, having left a positive review months ago. Unfortunately, the experience this time was far from what it used to be. Before the renovation Or the small time break, the buffet was impressive, with a wide variety of dishes and a great ambiance. However, after the reopening, it feels like the quality has taken a serious nosedive.

The food options were limited, and what was available lacked flavor and quality. It seems like the attention to detail is missing, and the overall experience has gone downhill. I’m not sure what has changed behind the scenes, but it's disappointing to see something that was once excellent fall so drastically. I really hope the team can fix this and bring back the high standards they...

This restaurant is bad on service, very expensive for the food that you have. Yesterday was bbq night, but they only give you a little plate with a small potion of different kinds of meat, but that was all the bbq that you can have “ that was not a buffet” and you pay big money for nothing. And also, they said that the of lamb shops, I asked for it, they promised to bring it to me, but never got it. They all fake. Don’t waste your money in this fake buffet restaurant where you pay big money...
