The Office Bar opened in Spring 2022 and I visited in October 2022.
I was looking for another bar nearby from my previous visit, when I noticed a rainbow scarf hanging in the front window of of a bar that had good music coming from the open door. Instantly curious, I entered a very pleasant space. It was early in the evening, so not busy yet for a Friday. The place is tastefully decorated with bar seating, a few night top tables, and a couch. Drink offerings are written in repurposed wooden doors and hang in the wall with other art pieces. The bar is stocked with the basic liquors, but has 30+ bottled beer options in the cooler. Additionally you can order a fresh fruit smoothie if alcohol isn’t your thing or you maybe overdid it the night before. Patrons are a mix of expat workers and locals. The business is LGBT owned, but not strictly a gay bar. You might be served your drink by the up beat and fun Nai himself.
Needless to say, I was here the following two evenings also. The bar is pleasant, with a mix of music and decor, friendly people, and not too loud that conversation is impossible.
This is a business I can easily promote and encourage you to seek it out. Plans are to open a restaurant in the space upstairs.
Keep a lookout for Nai in his vintage Mercedes driving...
Read moreThis is one of the funniest bar I ever walked in to. And I have been in many bars, 35 years in service business as a chef. Been many beers and drinks in a bar somewhere after work. It is so much good mode here. And irony, sarkasm. And I got a ride in the owners Mercedes model 1956. I really recomend this place. Don't get offended. The sarkasm and dirty language is here at least 3000% over level. Maybe more. So just relax take some "potty language" you will love it.
And I also tried the marockan food. Beef Tajin. VERY VERY GOOD. Tender meat. Good spicies. Bread. Dip eat...
Read moreThis place is like no other in Vientiane. The vibe? A little wild, a little weird, but somehow it works. Nai, the owner, is part of the charm and chaos – totally unpredictable, borderline crazy in the best way, but also totally loveable. He’s a brilliant artist, and that creative energy spills into every corner of the bar.
One moment he’ll blow your mind with something beautiful, and the next he might drive you up the wall. But that’s part of the magic. If you’re into places with character and a little edge, The Office Bar might just be your new...
