I checked the reviews before I went to the cafe, and expected that it would be a nice one. But I was quite disappointed, and u should also know this before u go.
The design. It looks great and “artistic”from the pictures, and many people commented how beautiful it was. But when I arrived at the site, I got it, it's just another imitation of the popular design style on Instagram. Pale walls + some indoor plants + minimal wooden furnitures + cushions + a little bit art decor. Done. Modern and chic. But u know it was nothing original, cuz u have seen it thousands of times on instagram and pinterest. But still, it was beautiful. But as a designer, i wanted to see something original and authentic.
the price and the quality. Nobody uploaded pictures of the menu, so i had no idea about the price before I go. In the end, I paid 50,000 kip (+ 5000 kip VAT which was charged in additional) for a pot of jasmine tea. I wouldn’t say it was very expensive but it was definitely not cheap here, at least more pricey than other cafes i have been in Vientiane. I thought i would get a good loose leaf tea, and maybe they would use local jasmine tea since I saw the loose jasmine tea made in Laos was available in Parkson. But bomb! it was just a tea bag from “Ahmad tea”, cheap and basic. And they charged 55,000 kip for this.
The vibe. It would be better if it was quiet and all the guests behaved well. But unfortunately it was not the case. I first sat on the second floor, soon two Korean middle-aged men came and started to chat loudly. Then i moved to the first floor, a Chinese woman kept speaking on the phone with a volume, and the noise from the second floor was getting even louder. I tried to enjoy the jasmine tea from Ahmad tea bag but i couldn’t, cuz i was surrounded by big noise. Unfortunately, the staff in the cafe didn’t care. Maybe these were the frequent customers in the cafe, cuz the owner, a Vietnamese lady went to the second floor and joined the chat with the Korean men later.
The service. The staff were friendly and polite. This was something i had to point out.
To summarise, this cafe was not for me. Or maybe I’ve gone my hopes too high. But it was just quite...
Read moreI ordered the Salmon Teriyaki and the Omelet & Bacon in a Croissant, and both arrived promptly and well-packaged.
The Salmon Teriyaki was just as impressive delivered as it would have been dining in. The salmon remained moist and flavorful, and the teriyaki glaze was still the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Even with the travel time, the rice was fluffy and the dish was still warm and satisfying. This dish is a testament to Arté Cafe's ability to maintain quality even when delivering. It's clear they've mastered the art of delivering a fantastic salmon teriyaki experience.
The Omelet & Bacon in a Croissant also held up well during delivery. The croissant remained flaky and the filling was still enjoyable. While I personally found the salmon teriyaki to be the star, the croissant sandwich was a tasty and convenient option.
The eco-friendly cardboard containers used for delivery were a nice touch, keeping the food secure and presentable. Even delivered, the small side salad with fresh greens and avocado was a welcome addition, adding a touch of freshness to the meal.
Overall, Arté Cafe's delivery service in Vientiane is reliable and delivers on taste. The Salmon Teriyaki is a must-try, even when ordered for delivery. The quality and flavor were exceptional, and it's clear that Arté Cafe prioritizes delivering a great culinary experience, no matter where you enjoy it. I wouldn't hesitate to order...
Read moreCame for late breakfast and sat on the second floor. Staff turned on the A/C for us. There's no wait staff standing by on the second floor but there's a call button at each table for calling them.
Cozy Atmosphere. It took a while for the room to get cool. The food menu looks quite healthy with many containing protein and veggies.
Food: • Salmon and salsa with rice (with extra salmon): Taste a bit bland, the salsa is not sour or salty at all. Would taste better with extra salt and lime. • Iced Americano - tastes kind of burnt. • Orange Juice - good.
Service: Decent. You can call the staff with the button. But personally, I feel kind of bad that they have to come up the stairs every time. And you have to wait.
Atmosphere Nice place to bring laptop and work or chill.
Overall, food has good macros and veggies. Price is reasonable. Taste is average. Price is reasonable (but does not...
