Naked Espresso Botanica — Restaurant in Vientiane Capital

The coffee was good. The place is nice. But The staff barely speak English, so they did few mistakes in our order (but corrected them no extra fees). We ordered eggs benedict but the sauce was not liquid, it was more like a guacamole consistence sauce, and eggs a little overcooked, so it was little disappointing for egg benedict. We ordered as well the full ‘naked’ breakfast plate, but without telling us the hashbrowns potatos were replaced by French fries. The bread was dry and felt like missing freshness. Honestly overpriced and I don’t know how the others gave good reviews. Coffee wasn’t great and the food neither: the poached eggs weren’t poached, the mashed potatoes were just French fries, and there was an overall sweet taste in the whole of the plate which was very weird. Prices are excluding 10% VAT and it isn’t marked on the menu. They even rounded up the price (100K became 1000K which I had never seen doing before by any other place and they marked I was given a 900K change which I wasn’t). Avoid. Was in dire need of a morning coffee when I came into the cafe. Coffee was really good. Good robust flavour, not served crazy hot.

The cafe is really nicely laid out. So much so that I thought it might be expensive but the price of coffee was quite reasonable.

The only criticism would be the size of the food servings, my Pad See Ew Gai was tasty but bordered on a kids meal in size.
