This is an incredible place with excellent service, cozy yet lively atmosphere and really delicious food and drinks. We visited in the evening, so we had some trouble finding a spot since we hadn’t reserved in advance (something to keep in mind!), but they kindly suggested we return in an hour and a table would be available for us. The menu is extensive, with plenty of vegetarian options which is fantastic. As appetizers we chose the Grilled halloumi and avocado salad and a small portion of Creamy pumpkin soup. The salad was really good, the halloumi was especially tasty, as well as pumpkin soup. I did notice some pieces in the soup that looked like meat, so I double-checked with the staff and they explained it was chestnut which cleared things up for me — since I don’t eat meat this was important to know. For mains we decided on the Stuffed & Baked Potato with tuna and Halloumi Burger. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, with generous portions and great ingredient combinations. The potato was especially impressive, large with a cheesy crust that looked amazing and tasted delicious. The halloumi burger also included greens, vegetables and caramelized onions which made a perfect combination. These dishes left us very satisfied. I also want to highlight the service, the waitstaff were friendly and attentive, checking in to make sure we enjoyed everything. It’s always a pleasure to experience such an excellent service. Overall, this place has everything at a high level and I highly recommend a visit. Just be sure to reserve a...
Read more❗❗❗ My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The food was poorly prepared and lacked even basic quality. I ordered the ribs with fries, but the ribs were completely bland, with no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. One of the biggest missteps was the blue cheese and walnut combination. The flavors clashed so badly that it felt overwhelming and unpleasant—almost like tasting perfume. A simple blue cheese dip would have been far more effective. The pulled pork burger was even worse—the sauce and pulled pork clashed so badly that the result was simply unpleasant to eat. That wonder how just simple food can be messed up.
The portion sizes were unnecessarily large, which doesn’t reflect generosity but rather poor planning, leading directly to food waste. This is unacceptable in today’s dining industry. The only thing remotely decent was the appetizer, which speaks volumes about the rest of the meal. Unexpectedly led the main meal to be a disaster and disappointment.
Service was equally underwhelming and low point. Our waitress showed no interest in our feedback or overall dining experience, making it clear that customer experience was not a priority.
Considering the combination of uninspired food, inattentive service, and high prices, I cannot recommend this restaurant. There are far better and more delicious options available here in Liepaja that every person likes for...
Read moreI wanted to give this place a great review, and I was expecting that I would. But I took a seat in the restaurant area and waited patiently for a waitress to bring me a menu. I was one of the first people to take a seat. I sat and watched as more people came in, who were all served.
After waiting patiently for one and a half hours, it was clear that nobody was going to serve me, so at 21:10 I approached a waitress and raised the issue. She didn't have much to say. Then, some other people walked in the door as she started to deal with them. At 21:13, I just walked out the door and went somewhere else to find dinner.
It's a pity, because I really wanted to give the Hot Potato a Five Star review. I can't do that if nobody served me and I never had a chance to try the food.
It was very disappointing, as I expected this venue to be so...
