Promenade Hotel — Hotel in Liepaja

Hello, the stay in Promenade hotel was bad. I didn’t receive any message or email regard my stay in the Promenade hotel. Thus, we came one day later, and receptionist was very rude and unpleasant and do not say any word about it – that our stay one day is already pass. Reversely – she said that we need to wait until our room will be prepared but later on only realized that we are one day late. Moreover, the additionally ordered the fruit plate was with soft berries and strange smell, thus probably these fruits were standing there for the whole day more than 24 hours as wasn’t fresh at all. Thus, in this situation hotel would compensate at least this untasted fruit plate. The room was in the floor and was very hot because the conditioning wasn’t worked properly and in the reservation was written that it will be attic floor under the roof what made the room almost unliving and no windows could be open: one didn’t reach to high and other too dangerous because under the ground. The service was all very unpleasant. We stay then later during our trip in Baltic countries in Radisson hotels and the international standard with less starts where we were more much better then in Liepaja. Although we liked city and would like to get back to Liepaja, but service and breakfast was good. The croissants were few days kept not fresh, the fruits were cut from probably day before morning not fresh, the choice for daughter wasn’t god at all. We could find any news about dinner and orders in the restaurant and especially was all the time unpleased receptionist. And price was in Promenade hotel the highest from all our hotels in Balrtics. In my opinion, a 5star hotel should be perfect, it should be an experience that you fully enjoy! Unfortunately, staying at Promenade wasnt like that. Of course the hotel is fabulous and the rooms look very nice and in general the hotel could be 5 star experience, but all the small things kinda ruin the experience

The dirt (at least a full cm of it) on the wooden elements in the room No anti slip matt in the bathtub, both me and my wife felt kinda unsafe while taking a shower! The SPA area is nice, but a lot of the equipment is broken or not working (hose in the steam bath, the sand clock in the sauna The breakfast was fine - and thats it! The receptionist didnt bother asking if we enjoyed the experience, just said “looking forward to your next visit” - sorry mate, it wont happen, there are way better options in Latvia in the same price range

All the issues described above are really little things, that wouldn’t take much time/effort/money to fix, but they are there (in a superior class hotel) and they do disturb the planned...

we were happy that the furniture and paintings were gorgeous, the breakfast was very good, the room was clean and the toiletries was provided. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.|- We were disappointed that the Internet didn’t work properly. The air conditioner didn’t work and our room, by the way, was on the sunny side, and the temperature in the room was 28 degrees, and we couldn’t cool the room down. When we arrived we noticed that in the shower was no soap at all, and we had to look for the maid to give us soap. The door to the bathroom didn’t close properly. One of the blankets was not in a good condition, it should have been replaced a long time ago. The coffee machine didn’t work properly and we had to ask for receptionist to replace it. *To be honest, in our opinion it is difficult to give this hotel 5 stars for above mentioned reasons.
