Restaurant and Bar "Captain" — Restaurant in Liepaja

The place looked very good as well as menu, so we decided to try it. As we came in the waiter told us that the time for the food will take one hour and it was okay for us, she also mentioned some options we can have while we are waiting. Service was a little bit slow. We ordered lamb with vegetables, which came almost without any meat. It was only potatoes and some vegetables, and only four small pieces of meat! Not even sure if it was actually lamb! Also at the end the waiter wanted us to give her our used plates? Usually in restaurants waiters going around table and picks the plates by themselves, not asking the guests to give it to them. So, the food and service was not that nice. Also at the end we wanted to split the bill, we were five people. And the waiter said that it’s not possible? She said that we need to say that before we order the food! Never seen this system before. So luckily one of us had enough to pay for everyone, but what if not? We visited from Riga. The waiter was kind and friendly and the music was nice. Waiting was about 30min. However, everything else was below average! Firstly, we were told after a while that beef is not available so we could not get the food we ordered (although the waiter kindly apologized twice even at the end). Once we got the food, despite the decent portion size, our immediate conclusion was that it is not worth 15 eur per portion. Quality was disappointing and better cooked food costs less in Riga center. My husband's crispy chicken was burnt, my BBQ pork ribs were drenched in an overpowering and sticky bbq sauce, perhaps to cover the overcooked and dry pork ribs that deffinitely weren't fresh. Fries were just average frozen fries, slightly overcooked. We ate our food as it was a late night and we were ravenous. It would have been just ok, if it was a small pub and the price would be 9eur. But for a restaurant and its price range - food quality is underwhelming. Probably will not...

Absolute worst experience ever, we had wedding banquet booked, for certain amount of people, 1st of all there weren't enough seats set up for everyone to sit , 2nd no service at all , we literally had to run up and down the stairs to chase our orders and drinks. The food was planned came to table and half the table then was missing food and had to wait 20 minutes. Everything being pre planned you would think they would prepare better for this. Coming end to then pay ofcpurse we didn't want to pay the full price as we didn't get what we were promised and us on our wedding day where runed down and embarrassed due to dissapointing guests.
