Miezis & Kompānija — Restaurant in Liepaja

Undoubtedly my favorite place to go out in Liepāja casually which I've proven and tested through years. Beers (and some ciders) are varying all the time and there is always something to choose from and new to try out. 14 taps of fresh draft and more than 140 bottled/canned, some non-alcoholic too. A good place to find out local Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian beer from small breweries and also finding out various beers from different countries around the world, it is a very intelligent place where to find out about beers and ingredients for brewing you never knew existed. The bartenders know their stuff and how to suit their customer needs well and always know where to look in order to find something in the direction for that specific preference. They are smart and humorous conversation companions too plus the music is always on the notch. Nice and cozy atmosphere as well as the interior, something which is just nice to look at. The place is also enjoyable when it's empty. They have some snacks to have with beer, my favorites are cheese, olives and bread toasts - you can find that kind of stuff only here. Loved it! They have wide selection of tap and bottled beers. We were amazed by just freshly brewed Arpus beer (it’s always cool to be one of the first ones to try something new, right?) They have a very limited seating by the bar inside as the place is not huge, but they have several tables outside and you can actually sit on the square by the bar outside and enjoy the sun (what we actually did). This review goes personally to bartender. I ordered the beer which was described as ddh/pale ale (according to untapped too). What i got was sour and smelled really bad. It was definitely rotten. I got back hoping to resolve the situation but the girl said this beer should taste like that and it’s not sour at all. The next day i bought THE SAME beer in another location and it was great and hoppy. So I wonder how she’s still working there with...
