CASA DELLA PASTA - Kaļķu iela 7 — Restaurant in Riga

My wife and I stopped by this place for an early supper. It was still pretty full and only had a few tables open. The server quickly had our drinks and order in. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and you can see a lot of the food getting done - especially the pizzas. The servers are very quick to deliver your food when ready - under individual heat lamps on the counter for all to see. I evem saw the manager jumping in to help deliver the plates. I will say that our appetizers were pretty good and the main meals were also tasty. I was a bit disappointed in Carbonara due to the guanciale pork barely being rendered down - in no way was it near nice and crispy (I barely ate any of it - only the few crispy pieces). The pasta and sauce were tasty. The Ravioli was very good, but the sauce was just butter. I figured it would have been a browned butter sauce to give it a little more taste. We decided against a dessert as there was a delay in service near the end of our meal. Being a newer restaurant, I think this place will do very well due to location, atmosphere, service and good food. I'm sure we will be back to give it another...

We visited this restaurant for dinner with my girlfriend and had a wonderful experience. The location is right in the heart of the old town, yet the prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to many other Italian restaurants in similar areas. I noticed a review claiming it was a tourist scam, but in my opinion, that is not the case at all. There are certainly places that overcharge tourists, but this is definitely not one of them, the prices are actually very close to the one from Italy. Our waiter was very professional and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The manager, Simone, listened to our feedback, promptly passed it to the kitchen, and responded in a very kind and respectful way.
