Ahwet Zeitouna — Restaurant in Port of Beirut

Disrespectful and unprofessional receptionist. On Wednesday 21/09/2022 at 7:45pm, we were hoping to try the food at Ahwet Zeitouna. We reached the welcome desk but did not find the receptionist who was away for a while. We asked a waiter to call him before we sit at the table which was available from the moment we got there. In the meantime, another group of 4 came after we have been waiting for 10min. They talked to a guy (who just showed up and turned out to be the receptionist) who despite informing him numerous times that we came earlier than this group and that we have been waiting for 10min, ignored us and gave them the table without any hesitation claiming ironically that he cannot refuse the request of a client for a table. We came to the Zaytouna branch just now and it was almost full. We wanted to sit as a family of 6 outside. However, there was a woman (who still hasn't ordered anything yet) sitting at a table of 6 and my mother talked to a waitress who said that the woman was waiting for one more person to sit at the table. My mother tried to tell the waitress and an employee who also works there that it is not comprehensible to let 2 people sit in a table of 6. The employee replied that the policy is not wrong in a very rude way and started to talk back at her instead of respecting her opinion whatever it is. But still he was very disrespectful. I recently had lunch at Ahwet Zeitouna, and I can’t say enough about how wonderful the experience was. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely top-notch—fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and full of flavor.

What truly made the stay memorable, however, was the exceptional service we received from our waiter, Obada. They were attentive without being intrusive, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. He made great recommendations and ensured everything was perfect from start to finish.

It’s rare to find service that enhances the meal this much, and Obada truly elevated our evening. We’ll definitely be coming back—and asking...
