A Nightmarish Experience – Stay Far Away!
I recently had the most horrific dining experience at Leila that nearly ruined my wedding day. I had planned a dinner a day before at this restaurant but what followed was nothing short of a nightmare.
First and foremost, the food was not just subpar; it was outright dangerous. I ordered the usual mezze, bbq shish taouk etc
Fast forward to the day of my wedding, and I was bedridden with severe food poisoning. The excruciating stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting were unbearable. Not to also mention the diarrhoea !! My dreams of a perfect wedding were crumbling as I was confined to my bathroom, battling the aftermath of the disastrous meal from Leila
To add insult to injury, when I contacted them report the incident, their response was apathetic at best. They showed no genuine concern for the suffering they had caused, and there was no attempt to rectify the situation or offer any form of compensation.
My advice to anyone considering dining at leila is simple: DON'T. Your health and well-being are not worth the risk.
In conclusion, 8 out of 18 people from my family were affected and some even admitted to a hospital. My wedding day will forever be marred by the memory of this terrible dining experience at Leila Please, for your own sake, avoid this place...
Read moreWe went for a Dessert as they offer a selection of Lebanese desserts with a twist (ice cream fillings instead of traditional Ashta) We tried to sit outside, there were couple of empty tables, so we picked one but a waiter rushed and referred us to another as she is responsible for assigning tables to customers, we were 3 people, she asked if we wanted a dinner, we said no a dessert, and she frowned.. and that was very rude.. and not acceptable at all.. we were just about to leave.. but then she suggested we could sit indoors and we did. As for the desserts: Osmalleyet leila was really good despite that they served it already melting 🙄 halawet el jeben (supposed to have ice cream filling) I ordered it last summer in ABC branch and was veryyyyy delicious, this time it was served all frozen!! In an out.. the cheese layer was frozn and inedible.. so we tasted it , each of us a bite and all agreed it tasted weird..cheese layer frozen definitely a bad idea -Ghazlet Leila was super Good, I totally recommend it.. the icecream is soft and the flavor is addictive, definitely a winner and the quality has been preserved over the...
Read moreWhat was supposed to be a pleasant dinner tonight was dampened by a number of indoor shisha smokers all over the restaurant, along with casual smokers just lighting up at will. The manager, a nice man who's no doubt being forced along with his staff to inhale all these toxins all day, explained that all venues across Zaytouna Bay "have a permit" for indoor smoking. Translation: strong man politician "owner" (likely the one rumored to be renting the entire Zaytouna Bay area from the state at an absurdly low rate) able to exercise required corruption to get one. I unfortunately won't be going to any Leila's restaurants anymore. It's a shame, because their food is good and their staff is generally very nice. But the only reason smoking is not allowed at their ABC venues for example is because of ABC rules, not their own ... We must take at least minor practical steps to protest these flagrant breaches of the law and...
