Zaatar w Zeit — Restaurant in Port of Beirut

Today we visited Zaatar W Zeit in Zaytouna Bay. The location is beautiful, and we’ve always enjoyed coming here as regular customers. However, today’s experience had a few disappointing moments.

While dining in, my young daughter accidentally spilled her yogurt drink. My wife approached the waitress for assistance, and she was helpful in cleaning it up, which we appreciated. However, we were surprised that no one offered to replace the drink — I had to ask for it myself.

Later, when we received the bill, I noticed that we were charged for the yogurt twice — once for the spilled one and again for the replacement. As loyal customers, this felt a bit unfair and unexpected.

Additionally, the condition of the tables could really use some attention. They’re noticeably worn and in need of renovation to match the otherwise modern vibe of the place.

We hope the management takes this feedback into account — the food is great, but a little more attentiveness and upkeep would...

Below average, and definitely not a good choice compared to many other places around Zaitunay Bay.

The service is very poor and the staff need training on how to serve and make things right.

As a restaurant, they lag behind below average local coffee places. The tables are not even minimally furnished. I ordered coffee, then I noticed there were no sugar on the table, then later noticed that there was no spoon with the cup. 😒

When you call a waiter/waitress, they look at you and expect you to talk from a distance telling them what you want.

The QR code for the menu doesn't function and you have to asknfor things you don't know or see, then get things you didn't think they would be that way.

OMG!!! It is the first time that I feel so uncomfortable in a restaurant. The staff are so so sooooo rude it’s unbelievable!!!! We came to the outdoor area the table was dirty and they didn’t even clean it. During all the service, The way they look at you and answer to you it’s like you did them something wrong, no smile, almost throwing the plate at you while serving. They just serve you whatever without even listening properly your order. Really we left feeling terrible and in shock. Better to visit...
