Raseef has stolen my heart during my time in Beirut. Here’s where I’ve eaten the best food in all of Lebanon. The dishes are carefully composed and will fill your entire palette. I wanted to come here more often but sadly lacked the time. I’ll be back for sure the next time I’m in Lebanon!! Service is also good! Here come the things I have tried there.

Basil Lemonade: amazing, although could’ve had a little less sugar, but definitely depends on taste

Olive Salad: really good, enjoyed it especially in combination with the pistachio meat

Meat & Pistachio: tender and bite sized pieces of meat in well rounded sauce

Kibbeh Maajouka: this was an amazing composition of cheese, nuts and meat with the red cabbage underneath just perfect

Eggplant Labneh: I’ve saved the best for last. My tastebuds were catapulted into another dimension. This was a perfect mix of different textures and flavours. The nutty flavour of roasted nuts, along with pieces of grenade, fried eggplant, layered against the labneh + grenade syrup?! I was in heaven.

All in all, I’m sad I didn’t make it here more often, I enjoyed the vibe, the service and of course the food very much. If I had to recommend one place in Beirut it...

Previously "Aunty Salwa". She sadly passed away a couple of years ago but the new owner is deserving of her legacy. Down a dark side street and easy to miss, this small bar/cafe is a great find! The entrance was "guarded" by a friendly alsation dog, inside we found a young, trendy crowd with a gentle vibe. Daily house specials and a decent menu offering Lebanese classics with lots of vegetarian/meat options reasonably priced, there is a good selection of alcoholic drinks. A warm welcome with helpful suggestions, We spent 21000LL (£11) per person on meze including a drink each. Highly...

Had a very bad episode of food poisoning because of the food here. We were 3 people all of us experienced the same symptoms and we know for sure it is because of the food here cause that is the only common thing in our day altogether. We ordered hummus, batata raseef, chicken shawarma and wings. We also ordered cherry kebab which never arrived, we were told the kebab might have finished for the day but we weren’t notified later that this order will not be delivered and we kept waiting. Place is nice people are also nice but nothing compensates the bad...

Really enjoyed the new location, the conviviality, sun, sky, warm interiors the faces of Beirut. Super yum Toshka if you want something filling and a rare Occassion to have meat in any eatery these days. Love the set up. Covid friendly. Work friendly. Pet friendly outside. If you are visiting from abroad tip well and support Lebanese businesses holding through.
