Socrate is an old establishment that have been able to maintain a very good level of service and hygiene throughout its years in operation. However, the kitchen is sadly disconnected from its customers. Their dishes never see any changes to how they are done, although some of them have some major issues like the under-seasoned and bland Indian dishes. There’s always an issue with one or two elements in the dish that just ruin it and they don’t seem to really care about improving those dishes. For example I tried many times after ordering the chicken Moghrabieh telling them that the chickpeas are undercooked (not seeing a white center in the grain of chickpea is not an indicator of being well cooked, the grain has to smash easily with a spoon), but they never seemed to care.
