The truth is that experience was very bad, and I will discuss it in detail.
Upon our arrival we were two people carrying a lot of luggage, yet the staff member who accompanied us to the room did not bother to help with it. He could have helped carry the bags—or simply not escorted us in the first place.
As for the room, it is spacious and has a balcony, but there are many issues: the floor was inexplicably grimy—not just ordinary dust but a buildup of black, sooty dust—which indicates the room had not been mopped for a long time, not to mention dust everywhere. The bathroom, for its part, was unacceptable: salty tap water, an old, worn-out sink, rust everywhere, and an embarrassing stench of sewage inside. Stranger still, they provided a single towel in a room that was booked for two. The room also had no chairs, no kettle, no instant coffee sachets (e.g., Nescafé), or anything of the sort—small details, yes, but important in any hotel.
Back to the services: we requested an extra towel, an extra pillow, and an extra blanket. The female staff member kindly complied, though she fulfilled the request incorrectly, but fine. After that we asked for plates and utensils, four glasses, and a kettle. That was the real catastrophe: nothing was clean at all, and the kettle in particular was a story in itself - it had no lid, the inside was dirty and foul-smelling. We even boiled water in it four times to no avail. They could have simply apologized and not sent it at all; honestly, that would have been better.
Upon our departure, while my wife was explaining the problems to the receptionist, he kept interrupting her with the phrase “You should have informed us,” in an annoying manner, and he was not courteous at all. The problem is not one or two mistakes that can be fixed on the spot; it is a fundamental breakdown from the outset, and it cannot be solved except through comprehensive renovation and maintenance of all rooms and facilities—especially since the hotel presents itself as a three-star property and its price is not cheap relative to the services provided. A guest could pay the same amount, or slightly more, and find a hotel with better services.
We urge management to overhaul the hotel and prepare it to receive guests in a manner befitting "Hamra" and Lebanon as a whole. It is located in a vibrant area bustling with people from far and wide, and to continue with such laxity serves only to damage Lebanon’s image and the very quality its people are best known for: warm...
Read moreAfter the bad experience at terrible Embassy Hotel (just 150m away), we moved to this place, where we finally felt like at home. The staff from the reception was very kind, honest and hospitable. They showed us as well several rooms so that we could choose our favourite (we chose one on the second floor, as it looked more renovated and refurbished that the one we saw on the fourth floor. We paid 76.500LL/night with breakfast included).||||Our room was very spacious, well equipped (it even had a kettle), pleasant, comfortable, modern and very well-maintained. The same applies for the ensuite bathroom, which was as well very clean (pictures attached).||||There was hot water, wifi worked very well, the sleep quality was good too, and the location is great: Hamra is a pleasant, modern district, it has good dining options (we loved "King Fries - Malik al batata", in Hamra Street), there are shops, supermarkets (there is one just in front of the hotel) and it is possible to walk from here to Pigeon Rocks, the Corniche, Zaitunay Bay and the City Center.||||The only point we liked less was the breakfast-buffet. Yes, they offer a breakfast-buffet, but it is very basic. Nevertheless, I would still stay here again if I...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay at the Marble Tower which is right in the middle of Hamra. The Corniche, La Rouche, and even downtown are all within walking distance. The hotel itself is as affordable as hotels get in Beirut. It includes a breakfast buffet which is pretty decent, but doesn’t include anything hot. The staff were friendly and helpful and had a couple drivers on hand for trips to the airport, the bus station or even day trips outside of the city (Baalbek and Mleeta were the ones I did with them.)| While not modern or 5 star, the hotel is clean and comfortable. One thing I didn’t like was the toilet was sandwiched between the sink and the shower which made it not as comfortable to do your morning business. The WiFi wasn’t very fast which could be frustrating at times. | All in all, I liked the Marble Tower, and would...
